Good morning Diane! It's so nice to be back (ish) and finally (hopefully!) on the road to recovery....gosh I have missed the cleaning! Yep 🙋‍♀️ it was me who said that!! I followed along with you last week but I'm going to watch them again alongside this week as a double reboot to get me up to speed. My brain is not fully functioning (although that might not be anything new!) 🙈 MR done this morning, I've also done all the washing up AND shined my sink...woohoo!🎉 Going to put away the ironing and a few bits in the bedroom to get that all calm and lovely for later. My cookbook is out for Lentil ragu (Jamie Oliver...yummy!) and my DD10 has asked for courgette spiralli with it!! So I'm all set up there. So all I really want to achieve today is a good 15 or 15x2 in Zone 1. There is nothing in there that shouldn't be, so I'm just doing glass, mirrors, dusting and vacuum which will probably also spread to the 2 carpeted bedrooms (just because it seems daft to take the vacuum upstairs for a small landing and not do them!) Thank you for doing these videos, you are the best cheerleader and very much appreciated 💖💖💖 Have a good day xx

I was admiring your door in the dining room right before you explained about it. I think it is very interesting and adds a nice touch. I have never purchased the Flylady's purple rags because the online instructions says to not put them in the dryer. I would use the rags all the time and can't imagine air drying them. I love watching how fast you work and don't get caught up in spending hours in the room you are in. Been there done that! The timer is the key:)

I don't buy the FLY lady brand but I do put all my other microfiber cloths into the dryer. BUT I don't use DRYER SHEETS or FABRIC SOFTENER because I do not want to reduce the static cling properties of dusters. The natural static cling attracts dust to the dusters and that's great.

Interesting the differences here in Queensland Australia - the sun starts gets up around 4.00am - I wake so early, often try to put eye patch on and sleep again, with chocolate we need to store in the fridge because if we went out and air con not on one day - it will melt.

Ha, today is the day to clean out Christmas, and switch to "winter", I still hope there will be winter ... I had intended that the children should "undress the tree" yesterday, but somehow they were busy elsewhere, so I will get to do it today I guess. Have a nice day!

We took the Christmas tree down, but I forgot a couple of decorations, like the wreath on the back door. Thanks for reminding me! We're leaving up the candles we bought (an LED set with a remote) because we love candles but we have 3 cats.

Woo Hoo! Got my zone 1 dusted, baseboards and windows. Also got boxes left over from Christmas in the zone out to recycling! Liking the camp. The getting things done list is great!

I have had the most stress free christmas in my adult life (not completely without stress). I just did, what you suggested and things came together. Christmas usually get me behind at work so this year the consequence has been a less stressful return to work

I personally wash rags with towels, kitchen towels, hand towels, bath mat, etc. I keep the rags in a plastic bin (not closed) when they are dirty until I do the weekly wash of towels

I usually wash microfiber dusters, microfiber cloths, flat-mop-pads, slippers, and either a bathroom floor mat or a kitchen floor rug together as a smallish load. I don't feel like I am wasting water because the dirtier items are, the more effectively they will be cleaned as lighter load. I also use at least one cloth a day to take off makeup----then as long as it is in my hand, I use the makeup cloth to wipe the bath room counter, shower-walls, faucets, handles, and spot clean the floor before it goes into the cleaning-cloth laundry-bag. 🧺🧺🧺

storm is holding off, so I will get to the gym this afternoon. In recovery stage , post op.Do WHB on Sunday’s, since Mondays are usually busy. Zone done ,too! Tonight is recycle/ trash night. Donations in car. Baked fish tonight. January is such a hard month for me here, I must be structured to keep going!

I was just wondering about dusting/cleaning open shelving and bookshelves. Is that something for my detail cleaning in the zone? I watch your videos in the morning with a cup of tea to get motivated for the day. Thank you.

That's up to you. In WHBHour, I hit shelves with a dry microfiber duster--the good enough standard. During zone cleaning, I check to see if there is any grit or stickiness that requires a damp cloth or a bit of polish. Some surfaces get damp-wiped once a month and some get damp-wiped once every three months. For me, damp-wiping and decluttering go hand-in-hand, so I usually do only that for the 15 minutes on one day for the zone. If I tackle the worst spots each time the zone rolls around, eventually it all gets done. My standard is to do the most good in the least amount of time and STOP at 15 minutes.

Hi Cynthia! We hardly ever dust ours because the books are in constant use. But if you have "decorative books" you will need to dust them off occasionally - so, yes, go ahead and add that to your list for whichever zone they are in (living room, dining room, office, basement, etc)

When do you clean the stairs and landing? Is it part of zone 1? We have two sets of stairs and a large landing and I always find that I forget them!

Good morning! I clean the stairs/landing as part of my Weekly Home Blessing Hour (dust, vacuum), every other week. But, yes, part of zone 1 (or add to any other zone of your choice). Have you gone through the basics, made a Control Journal?
