If you haven't already picked up a dog, I'm glad you mentioned looking into rescues. Awesome way to go! We're on our third rescue, two of which are with us today. Maybe you should consider fostering recues. We've fostered many, from pups to amputees. Loved every minute of them all. You have the benefit of having a dog, yet not being the owner of it, unless you want to make your home its "forever home" and you adopt it. Something to think about. Good luck on your quest.

7:34 Regarding mixing your own herbicides like 2, 4-D, glyphosate and other weak salt based ones, I've had some problems with effectiveness. It wasn't until I found out about how the minerals in hard water interfere with those types of herbicides and how to mitigate their effects, did I start seeing more success in mixing my own. I believe one of the most effective additives for glyphosate is ammonium sulphate. I've been using 17 lb per hundred gallons which I understand is a fairly common recommendation in agriculture usage (about 77 grams/gallon). Additionally, ammonium sulfate aids in the uptake of herbicides into plants when tank mixed, but the key is to add the ammonium sulfate into the water before adding the herbicide.
American Staffordshire terrier, 50lbs but only 18" in height, extremely healthy, got mine during CO vid... It is a bull terrier but extremely people friendly... My opinion on Bull terrier prejudices is that most of those people are not dog people. And no real life experience.. I will admit though a dog is a lot more work then cats

I love dogs but I totally understand it is a BIG commitment and a BIG decision. Since you are new to dogs, I would recommend researching breeds that you think would fit your personality, lifestyle, and home life. Pure bred are great because you know exactly what you are going to get and expect, but super expensive. If you go this route, I recommend reputable hobby breeders that are recommended by AKC or at least you check out thoroughly. Don't do pet stores, and be very careful about things that seem too good to be true - there are several people out there breeding just for the money (Puppy Mills) and they breed very unhealthy dogs. Rescue is new for me but we did get a rescue recently because we didn't want to go through the puppy stage. However, you often don't know what you are going to get and most times not even their age. We have one that was on the street so he developed some resource guarding - which means he can bite you in certain situations. That was a surprise to us and it does take patience and consistent training. I would still recommend Rescue pups from any humane society or rescue organization but definitely do your research and try to choose a dog that may have the breed characteristics you match well with. They won't be totally predictable but you can get a good idea if you have some idea of their breed mix.
Golden Retrievers are a sweet-natured, smart, and protective breed. But if you're averse to having hair balls all over your house, choose wisely. They shed a lot. French Buldogs cannot swim and will sink like a rock if they slip into the pool. Yorkies and Shih Tsu's are cute and playful but require a trip to the groomer every six or eight weeks. Labradors are pretty low maintenance and very loyal but they have a ton of energy. Good swimmers though and not big shedders. I'm sure you'll make the right choice.
Yes great info! I have a Frenchie in fact this is my 2nd one! I love them. They cannot be in the heat either bc the way they are bred have breathing issues. Mine is an inside fur baby. I am a live in caregiver for my mom and she enjoys having the dog around. Alyn, it takes some work raising them from puppy status, but I think you would be fantastic as a Dogfather!😂. If you apply your lawn effort into raising a dog, I think you will come out with a great companion! I've had many dogs in my lifetime and will always have them as part of the family. Im going to try to put as much energy as I have raising dogs into my moms lawn (1st time lawn gal here and just bought alot of your product!) I wish you the best of luck on your search.
Thanks for the tips! Also, if you can check out the parents you can get a feel for what the adult dog will be like. Even in a rescue situation you can hopefully see the mother.
I remember that K Mart ham, the Kmart in Pueblo had a little restaurant and you could get a hoagie there! Good times! I grew up with Samoyes, but I sure love Mom's Chihauhau! I always notice similarities in how we grew up!
Goldens are great dogs. The hair would be a problem for you. I would recommend an Italian greyhound or a whippet for you. Westies are great. Ask Ryan Knorr.
😂Hilarious! The sniffling dog is a "Frenchie" a French Bulldog. That is what I have. My 1st one I had for 13 years his name was Chucky. When he passed away I got another one! I live in Michigan and it is definitely dandelion central. I have been using your products for three years faithfully and I feel like I finally am seeing the fantastic results I've wanted. My issue is clover and creeping Charlie. I have Triad and it makes a dent but it doesn't get it all. My dream is for you to come to my home and let me know exactly what to do - but until then (lol) what can I use?
Talk to people in your neighborhood who have dogs and ask them what they think about their breed and your environment. Being as hot as it is. You definitely don't want something that has a lot of hair.
