'MATTEL TOYS' then announced, 'The BRANDY DOLL!' Legendary. Watching this video is just amazing to see what was about to unfold for her. BRANDY NORWOOD, ICON!
The Boy Is Mine was actually number 1 for 12 weeks straight, despite stiff competition. I know Shaina Twain’s “You’re Still the one” was limited on CD singles at the time. Also “The Boy Was Mine” was ALWAYS played, speaking as a then 7 year old! But thanks for the info!!!
@KimberlyRobbins See this is what what happens when you get cocky and rely on ur wit instead of double checking. I knew 12 weeks didn’t sound right lol. But yes it’s DEFINITELY 13. Thanks for the correction. In fact I believe the only other song to specifically spend only 13 weeks at #1 was “End of the Road”
So true, women, especially Black women looked so beautiful 😍😍😍 I wish I can recreate their look...It's like a "sophisticated', "enhanced" but still very natural look....So beautiful...The 1990's are definitely the peak when it comes to make up , especially for Black people... Even though, they didn't have all the shades ...😍😍😍
Countess rlly appreciated when brandy mentioned her as a singer as well, because they often don’t ask her the right questions, that was nice, you gotta show out for your cast members
And we are in the season of Black Lives Matter. It just doesn't add up to me. This BLM is such a fraud. Only thing Black is on TV is messy reality shows.
@@teahgurl by yup by all these shows u mean the all black LIGHT SKIN MIXED CAST 🙄 back in the 90s we had actually BLACK CASTS WITH BLACK FAMILIES now u want see that MANY one or 2 shows but not many.
Brandy certainly doesn’t get nearly enough credit that she is due. She’s been classy from the beginning. And has never lowered her standards, over exposed her body and made trash music for fame. Thank you Queen for being a healthy role model for the black community.
That is a blatant lie. Brandy gets her credit for her contributions to R&B and for her amazing voice. She still gets praised for her amazing talent, and her sitcom "Moesha" was recently put on Netflix. You just saying shit to say shit.
Tori Kelly fan “your mother must’ve had high hopes for you giving you a name like countess.” Shady asf. She was throwing dubs at Countess’ name off rip.
I’m a 90s baby, but grew up in the early 2000s and I grew up on nothing but 90s shows and i say I miss the 90s as if I was actually aware of things 😂 but Moesha was and still is that show after all these years. So iconic. And soooo many talented people who played a role on the show passed waaay to soon 💔 thanks for the laughs 🙏🏽
Same lol, I was born in 95 to be exact, but like you said growing up in the early 2000s a lot of 90s shows were either wrapping up or just ended so we feel like we grew up with them too. Shows like moesha, fresh prince, sister sister and smart guy were literally my childhood.
Yup I was born in '96 and I remember bits and pieces of Moesha, that was a good show, they were showing re-runs of the show on BounceTv last year but then they stopped, I hope they bring it back on the channel.
I was born in 94 too and I always wish I was older during the 90’s because that time was everything! The music ,shows, clothes and how they just vibed not saying it wasn’t violence but people seemed happy and just enjoy life on some real Ish!
I wish little black girls today had this kind of image of a young black girl today. well spoken, covered up, in her youth. proud blackness etc. so good!
@Sunflower Rose No one said anything about celebrities raising orher peoples children, its media influence as today media is everywhere a child is naturally gonna see and follow whats on the media. There's role models like that yes, but not many that you see mainstream
One thing I loved about this show is that they had so many different shades of Black people. The main actors, background actors, special guests. It’s one of the very few Black shows that shows more than just one shade of Black. Also loved that they talked about real issues. It was just a good show
I’m glad Mo mentioned Kim being a singer and all that, I truly believe it was a love and hate relationship between those two. They both were beyond talented singing and acting wise. They both were divas and we all know how that goes. So they had they moments. Plus they were YOUNG. Which is normal for any regular teenager.
This was wonderful and bittersweet to watch, on so many levels. The loss of the talented Lamont Bentley and Yvette Wilson, first, then the fact that you cannot present a program such as "Moesha" in today's social climate of "anything goes" and zero moral fiber or accountability, or negative consequences for poor decision-making... and other levels.. It is so great to see this wholesomeness, this beautiful family and cast, an oasis in the current cesspool of wickedness, profanity, disrespect, moral decay, and hedonism that is so prevalent on TV in 2019. If anyone here takes issue with my characterization of today's 'entertainment' landscape, well... you're part of the problem. G'nite.
She was on for several seasons. She was one of the good ones, too, in a very crowded field filled with horribly sensationalist hosts like Sally Jesse Raphael, Richard Bey, Jerry Springer, and so many others. Rolonda Watts was real, and kept her show real.
_Moesha_ is turning 25 in January. Time is flying quick, and I'm only 25 myself. #RIPYvetteWilson #RIPBernieMac #RIPLamontBentley #RIPMerlinSantana #RIPKobeBryant
Its ridiculous that the only thing asked of Countess was her name, when i was 8 yrs old i watched this and loved Kim i felt her and Nissi were the whole reason this was funny, Countess was never given the proper spotlight its damn shame cause The Parkers to this day is my favorite show and makes me laugh sooo hard, Countess was such a gem i love Moesha but like Friends mostly cause the females carried it and made it funny Andell loved me Andell on the Parkers too that humor is so big i loved loved it but shame nobody gave them a spotlight nobody did more omg a movie with Countess would have been sooo funny like in the style of BAPS
I do agree with you. Countess was a better singer than Brandy and I'm so surprised she never came out with a CD. I remember years ago she was on 227 as a soloist in the choir at Mary's church.
That's not true... Countess would cuss her out on set and disrespect Brandy. The hate clearly is real, that's why she didn't go far. You can't brand ratchet.
The heifer really said "every big sister in the community is the auntie!" and "Your mom must have had really high hopes for you" tf??? I see why I never heard of her little talk show. Shady, shady, shady! I love how professional the cast was even with her ignorant questions and trashy character.
Queen Laitfah: Oh Deliha???? Jenifer Lewis: Kha-dei-JAAAAAAAA!!!!!!! 👀👀🤣😂 I believe this episode of living single was freaking hilarious!!!!! Just messy and will get the gossip by any cost 🤣🤣🤣
What happened to Niecy was she not on the show at this time when they did the interview, lowkey I feel Countress made Moesha the show more interesting n funnier, I’m happy she got a spin off of her own show
I dont think its fair that just because niecy was not an official cast member in the beginning of the show she cant go on talk shows like this. She played a role in every episode.
amcra1 she was trying too hard to be funny when she wasn’t, talking about “your parents must’ve had high hopes to name you that” like bitch who tf you think you are to tell someone something like that, she has ghetto ass name she herself. “Every big sister in the community is adopted as an aunty” that shit was offensive af
From the reporter in this story, to Brandy herself, and the rest of the cast- and even the audience- Are on point. Black women were at their true prime in the 90's. Brandy's hair was too cute, and on point.
I've been reliving my pre teen/ teenage years lol binge watching this on Netflix. As I was watching i realized, many of the cast and guests on this show have passed away. And not from old age 😔
I literally thought this was a parody show, lmao. I guess I didn’t remember this show because the host was terrible, lmao. Even the audience doesn’t even like her. 😂😂
