Thanks a million Kevin. You proved to be my lifesaver. I had been struggling to learn recording my laptop screen with my voiceover. Today, I followed each step shown in your video and could succeed in learning it. Thank you 😊
Great video , many thanks , question my hot key works when OBS screen is on , but when I only have google slides it doesn’t start the video , any recommendations?? Thanks again
Thanks for the great tutorial. It spoke exactly to the needs of an audience already knows why and what they want - that is, recording a powerpoint or slides presentation with themselves speaking in a box in the corner. It didn't waste a second of my time.
OMG this was EXTREMELY DETAILED AND SUPER HELPFUL ! thank you very much this will help me with school presentation now that I can submit it online! thank you again!
This video was amazing. I was able to follow each step and second my google slides. Only thing I would have liked was to know how do you type CTRL + F1 in the hot keys. I just used letters instead. Over all I was able to go from start to finish with this video...thank you thank you!!
I just pressed the CTRL button on the far left bottom of the keyboard and the F1 key at the far left top at the same time after I clicked on the + on the far right side of the screen. I'm sure you already figured it out, but typing it out is helping me to remember.
Thank you for sharing a great video! I have found an easier way that my teacher taught me in the past. He told us to start a Google Meets meeting, and there should be an option to present the screen you prefer. I believe this is also possible with using Zoom. Hope this helps! :)
I like it, but why not just use one of the many screencasting Chrome extensions like Loom or Screencastify? Seems like a simpler option, as does Quicktime on a Mac 🤔
Was the audio messed up at the end because the microphone desktop output was on? (Did this mistake on my first recording after tuning the microphone a bit.)
Thank you soo much.. but when I start recording, it appeared error notification on the screen by saying " starting the output failed. Please check the log for details. Note: If you are using NVENC or AMD encoders, make sure your video drivers are up to date" But I didn't use those encoders. What am I supposed to do now? Kindly advice
Hey Kevin, thanks a bunch for creating this instructive guide. It was really helpful to me in setting up my OBS. The only problem now is that my videos generate a weird background noise that sounds like an engine - a very disturbing buzz sound, I was wondering if this is unique to me or you are familiar with this experience, and probably have a suggestion for me. Thank you!
Cool video. I needed to make slideshow for my chool. This is very helpful. Yet here is great advice: don't try to say the things that everybkdy knows, for example, u dont have to say that if u click on the sleaker icon u mute the audio and clickk again to turn back on. Instead just say : this button mutes and unmutes the audio of something something. That is just my advice. But i liked the video and watched till the end with pleasure.
Question: Mine isn’t capturing the whole screen. It’s leaving a bit of it on the left out. Any idea how to fix it? Google slides is full screen and I only have the primary monitor on. Whatever I chose as output size, didn’t help. Thanks
Hello, I have follow your tutorial through however the recording I ended up with has very blurry text (major issue for small font size). Do you have any advice on improving the text clarity?
Click into File > Settings > Output > Output Mode: Simple > under Recording, set it to High Quality or Indistinguishable quality. Test them both and that should improve how things look. Let me know if that helps.
Are you able to record yourself somehow without a mic or will that not work? Because when I look at the sound settings and try speak up the bar is not moving on the Mic/Aux
Hi... thanks for the tutorial. Using a Mac, I only get Mic/Aux under Audio Mixer. How can I get the System Audio? I need to record the Google Slides sound from a video without using my mic for it. Thanks!
Great video - thank you! I've got a question: I've been screen recording several Google slide shows and I usually just use my mouse or the arrows on my keyboard to clikc from one slide to the next (never any automatic presentation mode) BUT I have had the following problem: very often wehn I do this the slides just seem to ski ahead without me doing any thing, i.e. while I record I suddenly see the next slide although I haven't clicked on anything. The weirdest thing is though: when I later check the video, it showed the original slide! This is really annyoing though because I don't see the correct slide with the info on my slide while filming! :-( Has this ever happened to you and do you know how to fix this problem? It never happened to me when I used other screen recorders or when I just present my Google slides show via Zoom.
MY RU-vid CHANNEL is always here watching and supporting your content. My RU-vid Channel focuses also on motivating and inspiring people. Keep up the good work, great video,I love it.
Hi Kevin, Great information as always! I do have an unrelated question though. Does Win 10 Pro offer an app for a scheduled shut down/re-starts at specific times? Perhaps something with a brief screen countdown clock for the user to see and prepare for? Thank you, Eric 😀
Kevin, do you know of an easy way to hide the playback menu that appears in the lower left corner every time you move the cursor? I know you can change the URL to /preview but I’m hoping for an easier way. Thanks!
Thanks Kevin this tutorial helped be a lot. But when I open OBS the resolution in your videos are not same for me it is in some what lower quality by which option can I get a good quality.
Click into File > Settings > Output > Output Mode: Simple > under Recording, set it to High Quality or Indistinguishable quality. Test them both and that should improve how things look. Let me know if that helps.
Yes, no reason why not. PowerPoint has the functionality built in (unlike Google Slides) although there’s no reason why this wouldn’t work there as well.
