🎧 Incredible Lightning Storm in Lakewood CO - July 12, 2011 

This is one of the most incredible lightning videos I've ever seen. I've easily watched it 50 times. Amazing display of Mother Nature.

This is a memory I will never forget. I've lived in Lakewood for 21 years and have never seen lightning like that before that night. I mean there was no pause between the flashes for a good hour. And even then I was bummed when it stopped :-(

Absolutely stunning storm video! I really enjoyed this. I'm from Ontario where we used to get storms like this, but have lived in BC now for over 20 years where we get probably 2 or 3 storms per year, and I really miss storms like these, so I'm living vicariously through your video. @GonzoREDSUNS Glad you enjoyed it. Colorado gets 2nd most lightning storms in the U.S, behind Florida. We get a storm like this about once or twice a year, although this was the best I've ever seen.

This was a great one. I had forgotten about my recording of it and then while I was watching it a number of other people's showed up too. It was a great storm. We are in Idaho now and don't get storms like that. I miss them!

I like these lightning sounds. They remind me in 80s when i was young there used to be these sounds in my home where i was raised here in Kenya in nyandarua county of which they are no more. keep it up we like this. joseph Njogu.

That is incredible the best video I have ever found on ut 100 present

The spot I choose is the back edge of a parking deck that juts out from the side of a 10 story tall hotel that gets wider as it goes up (overhangs) so it blocks a lot of rain and wind. I figure the closest lightning would hit the top of the building or one of the light poles on the other side of the deck. Just about anywhere, from inside your car, is reasonably safe.

I lived in westminster Colorado when this storm hit you couldn't even go outside the lighting to ground was relentless I've never witnessed anything like it in my 36 years of life.

Wow.I was born and raised in Los Angeles and we rarley get lightning. The last time we had lightning was at 2011 but it also came with wind going 80mph.

Cool Vid-Thanks for Posting, Miss those great Summer Boomers..I lived in Castle Rock and experienced what I thought were the most violent lightning storms ever...Wind wise they are still the worst, but for overall Violence, amount of Strikes and water...That would be Ajijic, Mexico in Jalisco State on the Shore of Lake Chapala..lived there for a year and the lightning there is surreal. People are killed daily and yet they still walk the lake shore during the storm like it's no big deal...found that a bit hard to believe unjtil i witnessed it...lived on the lake front.

I wish we got storms like that. Weather on long island sucks. Someday I want to move I am thinking about around Lakewood. how is it?

Good lightning show and you have a good camera and because I'm saying this is that your camera has the true nature sound and the sound is not stuffy sounded and one part of the video is the creepy part is the sirens and the incredible rolling thunder. Hope everyone is ok....

Great vid! I'm into lightning too, as you saw from my vid intro. The lightning strike shown is from another RU-vidr but the SOUND is from a strike I recorded myself so close I almost dropped the cam. I'd like to use some of yours (with your permission, of course). I saw you're into R.O.V.s as well COOL! I have a Deep Trekker and used it recently to explore a flooded cave in my area.

At about 0:26 seconds in there is some strange thunder like its broken or something, I heard this during a storm the other day, would you know what causes that because I have never heard that before ?
