Hi Kim, it usually depends on how the contracts line up. Post covid, they're just starting to get back in the swing of things. But in a non pandemic world, it can take up to 6 months or it could be immediate if there's a need for a replacement. For perspective: my first cruise ship audition was in NYC, got two callbacks, and I didn't hear from them for 5 months! The start date was 2 months later, so 7 months after that audition!

Good morning, Laura! I want to be sure I answer your question correctly and thoughtfully. Do you mean, will you find out the result of your audition on the same day? Typically in live auditions, you would find out if you got a callback the same day or the next day, but not if you got the job. If you do get the job as a result of successful callbacks, it could take a few weeks up to several months before your contract begins. This is usually because they have you in mind for a specific contract and they want to cast you with the right group of performers. Casting directors will need to wait until the current cast is done with their contract before your cast can hand over. But it's worth the wait! Hope this helps!
