Thank you for saying what doesn't get enough criticism - the clickiness on the buttons/shoulders is obnoxious and they've made the XX line appear so cheap in comparison to their previous handhelds which had satisfying, mushy and quiet buttons. It's one of the reasons I preferred the MM+ over the 35XX. I've been waiting for for a pocketable 4/4.5" PS2/GC-capable device for ages and am waiting to see if they can redeem themselves with the RG406P. If it has this clickiness and they don't add analogue shoulders, it's definitely RP Mini for me!

Haha. 😂 The clicky triggers drives me bonkers. The 406V is coming soon, but it won’t be pocketable. Retroid definitely has me lookin’ 👀 at the RP5 and Mini. But for $65, the 40XX H is pretty incredible!

@@BoKnowsGaming Good to hear I'm not alone! The clicking makes the devices feel more like a cheap toy. Yeah, saw the V but only interested in a horizontal, lightweight, more powerful successor to the RG405M with some hardware upgrades like a better screen, stacked analogue shoulders, proper sticks without cardinal snapping, HDMI-out and quiet buttons etc. You're right, I think the 40XX H is the best of the XX bunch with the 4" screen but most of the XX line felt a bit redundant after the 353s as there wasn't much of a power boost (if at all). The RP5 and Mini look fantastic, just wished the Mini utilised that same real estate better with an end-to-end, borderless screen. Retroid really impressed me with the 4 Pro. Going to give some time to see if the first wave of RPMs have defects, then that Mini is inbound. ;) Unless Anbernic can do something special after the V, it's inevitable to be beaten by the Mini.

Hey mate this is the newest review ive found so im hopeful youll get back to a comment better than the others... When docking one of these and Bluetooth a controller will it recognise the analogue triggers given that it only has the digital? Im a completely new over 30 kid to these consolses and looking for a first one.. if analogue triggers works on a controller they seem like games id mostly play at home anyway

I don’t know for sure, but my gut says no. However, there are other handheld systems that would. Like the RG556, the Retroid Pocket 4, and the RG Cube to name a few. I’m curious, what games are you hoping to play that you need analogue triggers for?

@@BoKnowsGaming I don't even know I've just seen a lot of reviews where they say some games kinda need it to be any good and I'm trying not to go up to those higher priced consoles at that point I feel like it's too expensive to not just jump to a rog or steam etc and play basically anything

I get that about the prices. I honestly don’t know what games this would play that you would need an analog trigger for. I might be forgetting something, but that wasn’t really a thing until the GameCube/Xbox era. This won’t play anything from that gen.

Has to be done from a computer, and added to the sd card. It’s pretty easy to do though.
