Seems to be focused on solo experiences tho. Otherwise the DDR/Stepmania bit could have been two, and the GH could have been up to five (RB3 All Instruments + Vocals)
@@paulsd9255 I feel like generally in the modern day rhythm games are experienced alone, and even before the most legendary moments in rhythm games have always been solo plays.
@@Oblivion9873 It's obvious 4096 intended for it to be constant because the score stays that way throughout the rest of the video. Unfortunately, there seems to be a mistake going into OSU. Still a great touch to the video regardless imo
FX Artist for VOEZ, Lanota and Cytus II here, thank you for featuring our work ;) As a motion designer and rhythm game player this is just beautiful, keep up the good work!
did not expect someone with such a wide repertoire of RG works would show up to a comment section such as this one, I applaud you for all the work you’ve done for Rayark’s games and communities
Holy crap, I didn't expect a rhythm game-style video from 4096. The flow and transitions between the various rhythm games are so mesmerizing to watch. Not to mention the special touches like added sound effects, the VR shake in the Beat Saber clip, all while still keeping a consistent monochromatic art style. This is art. Pure art.
Okay the choice to have bad apple as the song so that you only need to use black and white is genius. I love this so much, all the transitions are so smooth
I'd love to play some of these games in that color scheme. Also another reason to have that is the song is that it also has smooth transitions, like the channel itself.
@@jakedanielsen4512 it’s also THE song. you have not known a lot of things till your first listen to this song (not intending to gatekeep) and we also try to play it everywhere and i would not be surprised if a couple years from now we could put this on an executable on a QR code
its easily avoidable with modding or smooth camera built into the game. Its really not an issue for a game like beat saber as long as you know how to configure stuff
The dedication to the variety of rhythm games (and the visuals of each game too) is crazy dude, I guess you could say 4096 tried to make sure they *didn't miss a beat* Each segment flows into the next so nicely, and that Beat Saber clip at 1:33 is sick
You managed to match the style of these video games perfectly, while keeping it black and white, and with sound effects and seamless transitions. Woah.
I don't know why this made me happy-cry. it's so beautiful! A magnum opus! my childhood song and all of my played rhythm games combined from days old past! Thank you!
Imagine a rhythm game that constantly changes style and you just have to keep up with it all the way through the song. If it was random which style it changed to, it'd be nearly impossible to beat, but oh so satisfying and beautiful to watch.
This makes me realize that a rhythm game that switches between several different playstyles in one song could be pretty fun (and challenging, obviously)
I love how in this, it's not just the visuals of the game, but you can hear the *audio cues* of games that have them in the background. The drums of taiko, the silly Trombone Champ horn sound, the slashes of Beat Saber and so much more. I absolutely LOVE this.
can we just take a second to appreciate the fact that THIS MAN EVEN KEPT THE COMBO COUNTER CONSISTENT FOR EVERY GAME THAT HAD ONE!?!?????!?!? like seriously that is some dedication right there and I applaud the absolute top-tier animation, would def pay money to see this all over again for the first time (side note, 2:01 rip WACCA)
Not quite, but it's not bad. The combo was at 190 after the Groove Coaster segment and then is at 110 when the osu! segment starts, but the combo is consistent before and after Rhythm Doctor/ADOFAI.
this is amazing omg. the fact that there’s so many rhythm games in this short 2 and a half minute video and yet it hasn’t even scratched the surface of just how many rhythm games there are. absolutely amazing
A Japanese arcade recently opened up in my hometown and I've been really getting into rhythm games because of it. Your style and transitions never cease to amaze, but I had so much glee watching this.
@@MidiMaze178 Sorry but I'd be doxxing myself, lol. But there's now an entertainment chain called Round1 that specializes in that kind of stuff, if you're in the US.
@@CDJAM-webm you have to go to the right ones, there are a lot of crappy ticket ones that are essentially just casinos for children. But there are many out there that are dedicated to hosting great games
This is such an incredible love letter to rhythm games. I’ve been subscribed for a while because as an editor myself, I’ve always appreciated how perfectly your transitions flow with the beat of the music in all of your videos. So it makes sense that you’re also an avid rhythm game fan, yet it’s still quite a surprise to see such a well made homage to one of my favorite genres. (Also I absolutely love the WACCA shoutout, probably my favorite rhythm game period and yet it is so underrated.) This is such a good video and I’m going to watch it a hundred times now thank you
This feels more like a huge love letter the the genre then a meme, and Bad Apple is the perfect song since it’s in most rhythm games either officially or as a custom map.
Fun fact: In the last switch (Rhythm Heaven: Monkey Watch), you can see that the hour and minute hands point at 2 hours, 12 minutes. That exactly refers to this channel's name, where 2^12 = 4096. Clever easter egg!
This video taught me that I remember way more rhythm games than I thought. It also taught me that I can watch animation like this for hours and enjoy every minute. Thank you :D
I love this. So many great Rhythem games here. I'm happy to say that I recognize quite a bit of them! My favorites being Chunithm, Beat Saber, and DDR.
@@CDJAM-webm Even arcade ones. Well, not Guitar Hero arcade, cuz that thing is rare as hell now. But if you live Asia or US and have a Round1 nearby, most of the arcade games listed are still pretty much around and playable.
Same thing here! I was surprised that even Wacca is here, not a lot of folks know about that one. I liked it even more than Chunithm.. Also, no Muse Dash! 👀
I love how you just drop a single video once or twice a year, but they are all awesome and even better every time. Love your transitions, I couldn't get my eyes off the screen!
it would be a pain to make the transitions work with custom charts. just look at rhythm heaven's custom charts, they're FULL of stuff like unintuitive transition triggers(not for players but for mappers themselves as the game was never meant to be modded). the name is easier to think of though something like super rhythm crossover IIDX XL Deluxe & KNUCKLES Featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry™ Series
