The lead vocalist of this song, Ace, wrote this because he was literally shocked on stage due to a wiring malfunction. He fell down, went back stage, heard the crowd chanting his name, and went back out to finish the show. Ace took the experience and made it about a girl. "Don't pull the plug on me. No, no...keep it in and keep me high"=Don't stop lovin' me. Stay with me and make me feel good.

Awesome! I was 6 years old and my older stepbrother and I wore out the copy we had on 8-track tape. I was hooked immediately and have been a huge fan and member of the KISSArmy ever since.

The inside gatefold photo is the greatest rock photo in history for me. As soon as I saw it (aged 9/10), and heard that crowd noise and opening riff to Detroit Rock City, that was it. Mind blown.

Awwww, man...Brad! This one took me all the way back to my childhood when my older stepbrother and I remember this album being the first music that we owned and new, other than what was being played on the radio at the time. We had this on the old 8-track tape and wore that damn thang OUT! It's still one of my top favorite albums, and I was only 6 years old when this came out. I didn't get to see KISS play live until "Lick It Up" in 1983, their first album and tour without the traditional makeup and costumes. I went to see two different shows during their final "End of the World Tour" back in 2019 (Bristow, VA and Columbia, SC).

I got to see Kiss (my first concert) for this tour in all their glory. Thank God for older brothers for taking me because I was only 11 at that time.

That's awesome! I was only 6 and my older brother and I had this album on the old 8-track tape. I didn't see them live until '83 during the "Lick It Up" tour...that was an amazing show too! Also saw "Animalize" and "Asylum" then two different shows in 2019.

Top 5 KISS song for sure. BTW, Ace actually wrote this song after he was electrocuted on stage and nearly died.

During this tour "Shock Me" was the lead in song for Ace Frehley's spotlight guitar solo. I had this album when I was 7 years old in 1978. I'm thinking I knew it was about sex, being that all their songs were about sex lol.

Ace was shocked on stage. Kiss is one of the very first bands to go wireless, anyways the song is based on that event. Kiss being Kiss, the song has....well you know tongue and cheek meaning 😏
