Yep, more of those type of metaphors from Plant/Page lol. We couldn't get enough. So far, from the amazing Physical Graffiti double LP you've hit Kashmir, Custard Pie and this one. You may want to check In My Time of Dying next. Epic, bluesy tune with an amazing crescendo and some of the sickest drumming you'll ever hear. ✌

There was a club downtown where I grew up. There was a upstairs part where it was for drinking 3.2 beer which was legal for 18 and older. Downstairs was a small area for dancing with live music. The dance floor was like a postage stamp size dance floor. There was a small rock band that played this song every time I went there. The name of the club was St. George, and the Dragon. It was in my hometown by the name of Greeley Colorado.

I picked up a guitar st 6 years old. By 14 I was fairly good. I mean I could copy most rhythms and leads. I was "on my way". Then I saw the movie, "The Song Renains the Same". It crushed me, literally sucked the soul out of my body. I knew if I practiced a thousand more hours I might get some of what Page was doing, but even copying wouldn't do them justice, ever. Then this depth hit me... this was Jimmy's original music, his, not a copy. I knew then and there I'd never, ever, be that good. That day, Jimmy Page became a god.

I had a similar experience, i started playing guitar at 16, and was getting good fast, then when I started watching Led Zeppelin live, and seeing Jimmy do his thing with so much feel and soul, and sooo many ICONIC riffs, he became a god to me too.

Jimmy Page was a session guitarist. He played lead guitar on many albums, for many different bands, and in many musical genres. He was on TV playing guitar, as a child, already. The first BIG band he was in, before Led Zeppelin, was the Yardbirds. Yardbirds had multiple BIG really good guitarists, such as Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton. Jimmy Page owns the rights to the Yardbirds. After the Yardbirds, Jimmy put Led Zeppelin together. He got the I idea to use a violin bow from the star from Man from Uncle. It is debuted in their first album and first live performance in which they debuted on Danish television. At that point, they had only been together a few months, had already written an entire album and were performing, already!

From Wikipedia: The lyrics were inspired by blues musician Robert Johnson's 1936 song "Terraplane Blues". A Terraplane is a classic car, and the song uses car parts as metaphors for sex-"pump your gas", "rev all night", etc. The themes of these songs however differ; "Terraplane Blues" is about infidelity, while "Trampled Under Foot" is about giving in to sexual temptation.

This is Led Zeppelin's ode to 'Terraplane Blues' by Robert Johnson from 1936. Terraplane Blues lyrics: And I feel so lonesome, you hear me when I moan And I feel so lonesome, you hear me when I moan Who been drivin' my Terraplane for you since I been gone? I'd said I flash your lights, mama, you horn won't even blow Somebody's been runnin' my batteries down on this machine I even flash my lights, mama, this horn won't even blow Got a short in this connection, hoo well, babe, it's way down below I'm goin' heist your hood, mama, I'm bound to check your oil I'm goin' heist your hood, mama, mmm, I'm bound to check your oil I got a woman that I'm lovin', way down in Arkansas Now, you know the coils ain't even buzzin', little generator won't get the spark Motor's in a bad condition, you gotta have these batteries charged But I'm cryin', please, please don't do me wrong Who been drivin' my Terraplane now for you since I been gone? Mr. highway man, please don't block the road Please, please don't block the road 'Cause she's reachin' a cold one hundred and I'm booked and I got to go Mmm-mmm-mmm-mmm-mmm You, you hear me weep and moan Who been drivin' my Terraplane now for you since I been gone? I'm gon' get down in this connection, keep on tanglin' with your wires I'm gon' get down in this connection, oh well, keep on tanglin' with these wires And when I mash down on your little starter, then your sparkplug will give me fire

Yes I have been waiting for that and "in my time of dying". Both should blow their minds.

Finally hit this one! One of my faves of theirs👍 Always thought it was cool that the bass line is all keys too JPJ is a legend and totally underrated.

Yes it's sort of a tradition in old blues music to compare cars to sex or a womans's body, so this is definitely all about that.

She was digging it.. I really expected her to get up and rock it around the room!!! One of my favorite songs by zep... been playing the drums to ALL their songs for over 50 years. I actually could see her cleaning the house jamming to this hahahahahaha

Another great one is “Down By The Seaside”, but for some reason it’s usually best heard alone.

Brad figured out what this song is really about. There's a faster, live version that I think is amazing: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HGFITl5mFvs.html

Led Zep. Kept the hits coming. Robert Plant's voice and body image, Wow. Every album great! Well worth the few dollars they use to cost. Physical Graffiti. A double album. Hardly any group then made double albums. Think this is from that. Whe I was younger, didn't analyze songs. Just partied & enjoyed the tunes! 🎸
