There are pros and cons to living in the country. You have to drive everywhere to do anything, even to the grocery store. Some places you may have to drive 20min or more to get food but no one messes with you and if they do, you got guns for that.

You guys would love the country, we moved out of Jacksonville, to Missouri, bought 15 acres and absolutely love it.... P.S. no building permits, no inspections, just freedom

In the country here in Florida you can get a mobile home put on your property to renovate, but you have to pay impact fees and get a well and septic put in, which you need to pull permits for, but once you're past that and the mobile is in place you don't have to register it anymore. You only have to keep one registered if you put it in a park on someone else's property. If you pay cash for it so there are no banks involved, once you pay the impact fees and get a well and septic put in, you can pretty much do whatever you want from there on out without permits if you're doing all the work yourself. but if you hire a company to work on it they'll have to pull permits. After that, you can pretty much do whatever you want on your property, build sheds, have as many animals as you like, (as long as they're cared for). I know a couple of people that put in a single-wide and then added onto them so that they're now double-wides, and they never pulled permits and have lived in them for over 15 years. I know it's different in different counties, but where I live If something were to come up and the county finds out they built on without pulling permits, they'll give them a fine, which means they'll have to pay to get the permits they didn't get. So it's pretty much a do as you please, and if you get caught you'll have to pay to get the permits. lol. So if you want to move to the country find a county that's more laid back.
