The 3 am 'pay-attention-to-me' Meow or the 'omg-why-are-you-drowning-yourself'/ 'that's-not-how-you-clean-yourself' while showering meow. I can't go to sleep anymore without his meows when I get comfy in bed.
My cat does what my dad calls "barking". Guess the best way to describe it is it sounds like "re ra" and it's really quick. She does it alot. She does it if I accidentally wake her, when I say hi to her (even if we are already looking at each other) and while I'm walking around "talking" to her.
My cat is five years old I got her as a baby kitten and have raised her she only knows me she has learned ten words in meowing that she can say which is hi mom mommy uh oh no and some other ones she is learning new words every day
I paid money for my cat and could legally sell her. Anyone who takes her will get charged with theft, not kidnapping. If you want a child get a real one.
Let's also stop blaming the cat! They get conditioned to be defensive by owners who think their cats are toys for their amusement. Sadly people think that's funny until they get a faceful of claws or a bite.
What about the caterwauling? I heard it’s a female in heat sound, but my male (fixed) does it. He will caterwaul several times then if I just say his name, not shouting or scolding, just simply say it he totally changes to a regular tone. I had his hearing checked because at first I thought he was caterwauling because he couldn’t hear himself. I do have a spayed female in the house. Thoughts?
Hey how are you? Thanks for watching. Well, caterwauling is kind of complicated. Difficult to describe but we know when we hear it, right? Actually the sound may either be a good sign or even alerts signs that something is wrong. And that’s not exclusive for female cats. Males will also make this sound when they know a nearby female is in heat. Prevent caterwauling and the overpopulation of cats by spaying and neutering your cats might be an option. So my orientation is always to visit a vet if the sound is annoying you or making you worried it can be related to hormones as well. Anyways not necessary is something bad. Good luck . 😻❤️😽
@@FurryFelineFacts I recently learned from our veterinarian that caterwauling can be a sign of hyperthyroidism. Which as blood tests have confirmed my cat does indeed have.
@Maria Laubenstein Oh I see. Yes indeed caterwauling can be a sign of hyperthyroidism . I'm glad that you had verified this and hopefully everything will be fine with your cat doing the right treatment. Good luck and take care. 😸❤️😽
I'm curious about the "bath meowing". Nobody talks about it. Is it a mix of the anxious meow with the pain meow? I constantly hear a cat doing this "bath meowing" near my house. I don't think I have a neighbor giving a bath in a cat all weeks. Might this "bath meowing" be a new sound created by cats to indicate some kind of "human torture"? ;-;
Don't tease your cat or force them and you won't get any hissing or screaming at you! I show love to my cats who are still kittens. I don't make them defensive. I don't bother them when asleep, I don't purposely scare them. I respect them. They have total trust.
In my case I used Feliway for my cat because her owner (my Gran) died (from her perspective disappeared) and then was uprooted from her home and had to move in with me. She was already a nervous cat so while doing a balance of spending time with her and leaving her be, it's not always effective or enough. My cat was getting ill from how frightening that whole experience was and it's understandable. Sprays are not really any different from incense. Its just scents that make them feel calm. Its not dRuGgInG tHeM.
My cat only meows when she wants something, unhappy, scratches at the door and meows, and when I am around. My cat knows when it is time to eat, she is her own boss, and loves sleeping. My cat is an attention seeker at night. But my cat doesn’t meow a lot, not very vocal, but lovable, she doesn’t meow for every emotion, at least not of I know of. Cats don’t always show emotions, cats can be masters at hiding pain.
