That song hits my heart ♥ I saw the musical Jesus Christ Superstar on stage for the first time in the 9 th grade. For a little context, this song reflects Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane on the night that he's betrayed by Judas. It's Jesus's moment of doubt, knowing the brutal time ahead - asking God if he has to suffer, then accepting his burden. Dan Vasc performed the heck out of this. ❤❤❤

In some of the accounts of Jesus bargaining with God in the Garden of Geth (rhymes with beth) sem a nee, it is said that he was so distraught that his sweat turned to drops of blood. You can feel that level of pain in this performance by Dan Vasc, and that is not an easy thing to do.

Gethsemane is pronounced Geth seh munee from 'the musical, 'Jesus Christ Superstar'. Biblically the scene is not correctly depicted here as Jesus did question his Father once when he was suffering on the cross but then willingly died for our sins. Dan definitely shows raw emotion and superb acting. His singing is as usual, beautiful 🥰🥰

Jesus Christ Superstar was a rock opera (musical) and the song is called Gethsemane. Dan could absolutely perform on Broadway. He also sings Opera. Check out Dan singing Nessun Dorma by Puccini. Spectacular! Hail VascNation ❤

This was referring to when Jesus was in the Garden of Gethsemane on TBE night before the day He was crucified. In the Bible, He was said to have been in mental anguish that night and sweat so hard, it was like blood. Nice reaction to one of Dan's most powerful performances. Keep them coming, please!

Vasc nailed this, no question. I've seen Ted Neeley perform this twice IRL -- 20 years apart -- Neeley continues to perform this role on stage, after starring as JC in the original movie (based on the musical) in 1973. Vasc rivals his performances any day of the week. In my humble opinion, this is the best song in the musical; it continues to show that JC is human and flawed like all of us.

Geth-Sem-Annie. It's from when Jesus was on the mount on the night before he was crucified. Jesus was in such distress that, the Bible tells us, he sweat blood. Dan is a Christian and for this song, he gave his everything.

Gethsemane is the garden where Jesus went to ask God to take this cup from him. He prayed to.his Father God while his disciples slept, then He was betrayed by Judex with a kiss and then taken away by the Roman solider

When I first seen this I was think'n of Donny Osmond and "Jesus Crist Superstar" but it was actually "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", I do remember hearing the lyrics "Jesus Christ superstar" as you were saying but now I'm confused. Anyways, voice sounded great. Enjoy! 🤘😎🤘

Dan Vasc has a very powerful voice and he really let loose here. BUT I much prefer John Farnham's version from the last night show of JCS in Sydney. I haven't heard anyone yet better his version.

I think Dan's portrayal of what may have going on in Jesus Christ's mind, when he knew he was going to be betrayed and suffer a horrendous death, that he actually was sweating blood when he asked God the Father to take that cup away from him, was spot-on!!❤
