Oh, and i used to play the suanee music park, but it seemed as if it was on its way down hill a bit.. that place is incredible. or used to be. I was rollin in a 40ft Eagle so i ducked into the music park to lay low between gigs quite a bit. There were indoor and outdoor gigs there back then. hope this inspires you a bit bro. When any door closes, a cooler one always opens.
Man that is great info. I’m on a hunt for great players… drummers, bassists, keyboardist. Need to make some contacts in Tampa area. That way if I book something I got the talent to bring the heat.
@@badbrad ya, that part is not as easy as it is in Nashville. Now you got to sort through the weekend warriors ....lol they are out there tho. good luck to you man.
@@badbrad get ready for some excuses you aint heard in a while from the local talent, such as " I can't man, my wife and I play cards on tuesday nights...lol " The way I made it work was to put myself upfront. no band nonsense, i hired guys to play and if they stuck around they were the "band" for a while. That way they can come and go without hurting your reputation or progress. With your skills on that les paul i can picture you bringing the house down with a 25 minute version of gary more "still got the blues for you maybe some trower, speckled in with your personal thing and you will crush it man.
Babies change everything...I learned that at 18 so my music dreams didn't exist til I was 42. My grandson just saw me perform for the first time on a big stage last week and now wants to play guitar and sing like his grandpa! You'll do great Brad!! Cheers!!
WOWZERS! Congrats on your new family journey. Good luck in FLA..we snowbird there Jan-Mar each year Hopefully we'll hear that you're playing out again.. thx for fandango memories!! Greater Akron's #oldtyedyeguy #wixy1260online
You definitely made the right move leaving LA when you did....unless you wanted to play grunge or something, as rock was fairly dead.....but country was booming, as Nashville did shortly thereafter. I remember we went to 3 local country radio stations instead of just one in my city. Garth Brooks and such made country cool back then. Show us a clip of your first gig you do in the free state of Florida!!!
