There are some similarities for sure. The V7 felt overall little bit more muted (stiffer) and had also a quite high swingweight. So the V9 feels like a more fresh and alive update from the V7 with a better feel and better free power.

@@CzechTennisGuy I know that 100 has other tech than 98. I'm wondering about the differences between both blade 100, the v8 vs the v9.

Hello to Brazil. I would say the Extremes have excellent crisp response. Maybe you should try the Extreme Tour instead of the MP to get the best control and feel from the racket.

I think they are building on that technology with some new innovation to it.

Definitely try the Blade 98 16x19 V9 or the new Pure Strike 98 16x19. The Pure Strikes have tremendous head speed and acceleration.

It's ridiculous but at the same time I like to see numbers instead of plain marketing text. The numbers ar at least something you can somehow imagine the change and improvement. The feel is always subjective and the 1% is something you don't really have chance to spot. It would be interesting to see these numbers for all the previous versions.

@@CzechTennisGuyI understand what you mean, but these numbers aren't impressive IMO. If they can increase stability by 25% maybe, this would be a step forward and a huge impact on how it plays, but a few % here and there doesn't seem like a big enough improvement. HIghly doubt that 90% of players won't even notice... they just buy the new version for the sake of being new and having that "new" paintjob... lol

@@hybrid11theory75 If you were like me working with tennis rackets for the last 6 years as a copywriter and playtester, you would be surprised and impressed by these numbers. Most other tennis racket companies don't even show these numbers publicly, that's the first thing. And because I sometimes have access to non-public catalogues and info from the brands when I'm researching the new versions, I can compare these numbers to other companies. Most of the time the changes in stability performance of new versions are between 1-7%. Average is really about 3-4% improvement. So the 10% improvement on the normal bending and 7% improvement on the torsional stability is actually one of the highest numbers I've encountered. It might sound little, but this improvement is going on last 20 years. So with every new version/generation of rackets this has ultimately an huge impact on the feel and performance of the rackets. I remember for example Yonex that has lower numbers when showing the improvements compared to previous generations. And as far as I'm aware of the real-life situation in most clubs, people don't change rackets every version. Usually they stick to one version for more than 3 years, so they skip at least one new generation. So if you buy a new racket every let's say 4-5 years, the difference in the stats is at least double the numbers. So to be honest, I was really impressed by the Wilson Blade V9 numbers. Of course the 1% in change of the feel is questionable.

@ennisGuyYeah, but getting lost in these numbers feels like a road that doesn't lead anywhere. I think the bigger brands need something to show to the public so they can proudly say "Hey, we've changed a lot of things!". This is how it works these days. But i'm not a huge fan buying into technologies that all sound the same.. I would love to see the brands to invest more time into development and only release a new version if you can noticeably improve the frame.... what Head is doing right now with Auxetic and 2.0 is a bit of a gimmick and lazy cash grab for example...
