Thank you so much for this channel. I was getting 3s all throughout year 10, then I got a singular 4 in my January mocks which motivated me to try harder. Your teaching skills are seriously otherworldly, I was able to understand topics that I had no clue even existed. My maths teacher wasn't the best, he is probably getting fired now due to results, so I'm really glad that I found your channel. Without this channel, I wouldn't have gotten anywhere close to my achieved grade (higher than my predicted!) - I almost screamed when I saw it. If you really wanted to you could probably see my older comments about my progress, lol. The mocks right before GCSEs I got a 6 using your videos. The one before that a 4- (after this I started watching). Then every single exam before I got a 3. And now I've walked out with a *7* ! Seriously!! Thank you so much, I'm now able and confident enough to go to one of the top 6th forms in my area and do economics (and/or biology idk)!!! I couldn't have dreamed of getting anywhere close to a 7 before. If you told year 10 me I'd get a 7 I would not of believed you at all. I'm so grateful for this channel, I wish I could recommend it to every single year 10, 9, 8 even year 7. The least I could do was timestamps in return! No other videos helped anywhere as much as yours, I really can't express how grateful I am. Thank you for making such engaging and education videos. You're really responsive to comments and passionate about your teaching, literally the best maths tutor on RU-vid right now. The pacing and explanations are perfect and easy to follow, and the community is so kind and supportive to one another. in year 10, I also got a fail in maths and then in year 11 I finally passed but I thought it would be very hard to get a 5 (i did higher) and I was close to moving to foundation but I didn’t want to bc I thought it would be easier to get a 5 in higher ( I was kinda wrong LOL) butttt when i did my actual exam, the first one went terrible, I was crying and everything. Then the second one was a bit better but then the third one was so good for me and i think I scored the most on that. Yeah so basically, I got a 6 😭 IDK HOW I DID THAT because I never got a 5 before let alone a 6 and I needed a 5 for the subjects I wanted to do, and now I got a whole 2 grades above what I last got. I think spam watching a lot of videos before the exam deff helped and this channel too 😁 but honestly congrats to you! A 7 is amazing !! My dream grade haha

Bro self tought that is serious dedication I think it's like 1/50 students get a 9 in normal school and you dealt with health issues as well as tought your self all the subjects and got a 9 mad props.

I always used to be stuck at grade 6 in my mocks and practice papers. I was assured that this would be the same in my actual exams . Low and behold, I got a grade 8(195 marks) and I have YOU and other resources to thank for it. Alhamdullilah

@@Kjoffical Hi. Past papers are excellent. I also used RU-vid Channels such as: The Maths Prof, Examqa, 1st Class Maths, GCSE Maths tutor (of course), Hegarty Maths, Mitchell Dye(he's very good for really high level revision and questions, he created very hard A* papers which are really good for top grades). Use all the time you have wisely. I used most of my breaks and lunches in the library completing past papers with my other classmates. Find a good set of people motivated to achieve good grades. A lot of the time when I struggle with certain question in Past papers, I would normally refer to my class mates and they helped more than my teachers as we were on the same level and we understood each other more. I wish you the best sister, you will be absolutely fine xx Oh and the CGP revision is quite helpful though I did not really use it. Certain TikTok pages are really helpful such as Hannah Kettle

I got a 3. I know what you may be thinking, you failed but no I really didn't. Throughout my years at secondary school I've never exceeded 10 percent in maths exams which is a 1 or even a U. I worked really hard and im proud of the 3 , I managed to still be able to apply and take Alevels and I know that in November I will truly be ready to pass. I am really happy with how much I worked eventhough it may seem like just a fail to many , thank you for showing me that I can improve and that I can do. I'm 16 and I was often the dumb student in all my maths lessons and I wouldn't receive help because i was a lost case. I sent up 3 grades from my mocks from a U to a 3 , I have severe learning difficulties that were only diagnosed 1 month before the exam, my teachers often just thought I was difficult to teach. I can and will pass in November! ❤

I primarily used the videos on your channel (along with Corbettmaths 5 a days) to revise for GCSE maths and all the videos I watched boosted my confidence so much as I felt like I understood certain topics so much more than I did before, I was hoping for an 8 in my gcse as in all my mocks my best grade was an 8 and I didn’t think I could get any higher in the real thing, but it turns out I got a 9 ! Thanks for all the resources, I’m so pleased with my grade and I don’t think I would have got a 9 without your channel!

@@itzme_zeni2521 i watched the gcse maths tutor videos for each topic and answered all the questions, then did some more gcse practice questions on the topic after to ensure that I understood it, and once I had done that for every topic I did past papers back to 2017 (because paper 3 didn’t exist before that so it’s a bit outdated) and went over any topic that i lost marks on. the tgmt website has useful quizzes and resources like topic lists, predicted topics, tips, etc. there are also other maths resources like onmaths or physics and maths tutor, things like that. you can also find practice papers made by other people online once you’ve done all of the official ones, and you can also do other exam boards (e.g. if ur school does edexcel do the aqa papers after you’ve done all the edexcel ones, it doesn’t really matter since maths is maths). unrelated but for science subjects, i also recommend cognito, it’s extremely good and got me grade 9s in physics chem and bio. regardless, you’ll do well since you’re thinking ahead this early. also, i don’t personally use a revision timetable i kinda just revised whenever i felt like it but if you prefer a more structured routine you could make one, that’s up to personal preference

Just wanted to say the biggest thank you for everything you do. I had to retake my GCSE maths (9 years after doing it the first time!) in order to meet a medical school entry requirement. I needed a 6 but am pleased to say I achieved an 8. I can say with absolute confidence if it wasn’t for your channel there is no way I could have done it. SIR, I LOVE YOU OH MY GOD. In my last mocks (February) I barely scraped a grade 5 but as I neared my actual exams I realized that I have a true interest in maths so I was determined to get at least a grade 7 to study maths at a level. My revision was based on just doing 2 past papers each day together with watching your videos on subjects i didn't fully understand. My exams felt like they went okay-ish so I didnt know what to expect on results day. Today I opened my results and ACTUALLY JUMPED when I saw a grade a 8 for maths and I went to my head of sixth form to pick to do further maths at a level. I am so happy rn

5 to 8 in a couple months is crazy you should be proud of urself bro. one thing id say is id recommend a 9 for fm cos its pretty tough. i dont wanna put u off doing it but what i an trying to say is most people in ur class will be proper nerds (speaking from experiennce, and im one of those nerds myself lol) so make sure to stay on top of all the content. When u do a new topic go home and practice it the same evening. A lot of ppl who get 8s seem to drop out early cos it can be quite a handful, so just wanted to give a heads up to you my guy. Still tho, that's mad now I think about it, you were stuck on 5s just 6 months ago and now you're gonna be doing fm. All the best my guy ❤

I started Yr8 in bottom set, watched your videos a bit in Yr 9 moved up to set 4 then 3 out of 7 by Yr10, worked really hard, almost all my revision for maths was your videos and past papers and in a maths set where everyone was averaging 6.7,8 and 8s, I got 227/240=95% and was extatic, I from bottom set smoked people in sets 1 and 2, I took Maths and FM A levels and I'm now about to start Engineering at Uni, which definitely wouldn't be possible without you @TheGCSEMathsTutor

I have literally been stuck on a 4 and i've been struggling in maths but i got a 6!! I needed a 5 and ive never gotten a 5 before let alone a 6- so yeah all the extra work paid off! i literally don't know how i went up by two grades but yeah, your videos definitely helped as well! 😄

I moved to England from Canada in 2020 summer and started school in winter 2020 in year 9. And I missed a lot of content and didn’t even know how GCSEs worked and what exams I was even going to do. So when my first mocks in year 10 came around I got a grade 3, almost a grade 4. At the time I didn’t know how good or bad that was haha but eventually I realised I know I can do better than that. So I started working hard, my summer year 10 mocks came and I got a 5 in foundation! I was so happy because I got moved to higher tier and moved to set 1 due to my hard work! It was super tough because higher tier had stuff that I never came across but I tried really hard to wrap my head around it, I got a 6 in my year 11 mocks which was crazy because I finally got above a 5! And then finally my GCSEs came around, and I ended up getting a grade 7!! 5 marks off a grade 8! I’m over the moon with how much I improved and I’m so proud of myself. And now I’m starting A level maths. Thank you for everything, I sure will be around for the a level videos when I need them! :))

I just wanted to say a special thank you to you! From year 8- year 9 I struggled with even foundation maths and hardly passed. I made the decision to revise over lockdown periods and that's when I found your channel. I haven't done my actual GCSEs yet. I am Yr11 and I have just finished my mock exams for sixth-form application grades. Maths has been my best subject and I got a 6 last year with little revision. I decided to achieve all 9s in my GCSEs at the start of this year and I am already at a grade 9 in maths and am one of the 15 students in my year of 300 students doing Level 2 Further maths qualification which is good going to a non-grammar school. This channel helped me a lot and I am at the top of my school because of it. Just wanted to say cheers mate your videos have been incredible support to me in maths and I appreciate it a lot.

@@hayyanzaman4365 so sorry for this late reply, but i'd reccomend printing out a whole bunch of past papers and skim thru them. Time wasnt my problem so i didnt time. But go over the topics which you didnt understand.Closer to the exam date do timed past papers. Best of luck!!

I was getting low 6s and 7s, but thanks to TGMT I managed to get a 9 in the maths mocks, and an 8 in the real exam but that was due to AQA's horrible grade boundaries. I recommend this channel over any maths channel.

@@hayyanzaman4365 hey! it depends on your level and what you’re aiming for :) so, i was aiming quite high (7, 8, 9) and since i got a 7, i feel accomplished. i mainly focused on topics that are ‘grade 8/9’ because of their ‘difficulty’ so i could get used to those types of questions so that if they come up, i would be prepared to answer them. i would start with the basics of a topic and advance through it with harder and harder questions, which i mainly got access to from youtube videos such as this channel’s. i barely did past papers and that’s because the beginning half of the paper i could easily do but i wanted to improve on the other half so i can get big marks so i basically didn’t waste time perfecting something i knew when i could get even more marks elsewhere :) rather than revising topic after topic, i also did practise questions on each topic so i can make sure i know what to do if a similar question comes up. i mainly watched these videos for revision too :) of course, you are at whatever level you are so maybe you can apply my advice for your own needs. i hope it’s been helpful :) if u want, u can ask me more questions

In year 10 we only did easy mocks made by the school I would get 35/50 and be happy although the real tests have 80 questions AQA in year 11 November mocks I got a five and I think my teacher predicted me a five I was getting like 18-32/80 on each test I think and then my mom told me in January if I don’t work hard I will work on McDonalds for the rest of my life so I started working hard in January and in the end of feb to beginning of march mocks I got a 6 it was a huge improvement although only one grade up bc I remember I got 55/80 on one paper and like maybe 45 and 42 which brought the average to a 6 instead of Seven my teacher predicted me a grade seven but I worked so hard and even though paper one went kinda bad I didn’t give up and paper 2 and 3 went so much better the best I’ve ever done on maths papers then I got an 8!!! I’m so proud of myself and I’m grateful for my maths teacher and statistics teachers for helping me with maths also I got an 8 in gcse statistics I went from getting barely 5’s to an 8. Sorry this is long and my use of punctuation is little as u can tell I got a grade B (6) on English 😂

Dear TGMT, Thanks for posting your incredibly helpful videos. Thanks to you (and a few other maths vloggers) I achieved 233/240 (level 5) for my Edexcel Foundation Maths paper last summer and 209/240 (level 9) for the Higher paper in November 2023. Admittedly, these grades come nearly 50 years after achieving a 'B' for my O level maths; I'm now 64! Quite a lot has changed (vectors in, matrices out), but I'm still rubbish at Venn diagrams. Best advice I can give to your followers- practice, practice, practice and more practice. I must have done all the UK exam boards past papers since 2013, repeatedly. GCSE maths is the best 'cure' for dementia- no reported side-effects and it only costs £200.

I have always been getting one of the lowest in my maths class in every single maths test i took in high school, and i realised that it was my revision technique that was absolutely dragging me down, thanks to your amazing teaching skills maths is getting easier for me and i realised a lot of your questions actually do come up on many of my papers. :)

@@hayyanzaman4365 i used the past papers my teachers gave used lots of maths websites to revisit topics on my weaknesses like gcse maths tutor maths genie Corbett maths (mainly for further) and also perseverance and dedication you need to have those to get through challenging questions even when you have no clue of how to get started. I got a 6. I WAS 1 MARK FORM A 7. I need a 7 to be a surgeon in the NHS and I will be retaking my exam in 3 days, then again in 6. I am and will be trying my very best and I will edit this comment to let you know how it went. Your videos are incredibly helpful to me and make maths easy and fun. Aiming for an 8 or 9. While I wasn't particularly awful at maths (hovering around a 6/7 level), I never liked nor really understood it. But thanks to you, I was able to get an 8. I never, ever thought that I'd be doing A-level maths. The thought never even occurred to me, but here I am! I kind of wish you do A-level as well. Also, your teaching has really carried on into my other A-level subjects. I'm doing maths, biology, chemistry and physics, and I love it. They're all quite maths-intensive subjects, and I feel like I'm not struggling, because you've given me the mathematical skills to do calculations. So thank you very much.

I got a 7 in maths , however I wasn’t expecting to pass maths because the questions were quite difficult and at some point strange . I appreciate all GCSE math tutors including physics and maths tutor on RU-vid, as they have really helped in boosting my confidence in terms of solving questions with different difficulty levels .

Although i didn't watch any of your videos, i enrolled into a college gcse course in January for one day a week, and i managed to get myself a Grade 5 (foundation) with two or so months of revision.
