San José, the capital of Costa Rica, has various attractions among which are parks, cathedrals, museums, colonial buildings, squares, among others; that allows every visitor to explore each of these fascinating sites.
The attractions of the capital begin to the east where you can appreciate the National Park, an area where you can see the Railway Museum, the National Library and the Supreme Court of Elections (Civil Registry).
Continuing west you will find Parque España and in front of it the Casa Amarilla (Ministry of Foreign Relations), if you cross the street the park changes its name to Parque Morazán; very close is the Buenaventura Corrales School, also known as the Metallic School for being built with that material; this school was transported from Belgium and assembled in Costa Rica.
Buildings such as the Museum of Costa Rica, Melico Salazar National Theater, Correos de Costa Rica, among others, will leave you amazed by their imposing colonial architecture.
The nerve center of the capital is located in the Central Park, and in front of it the Metropolitan Cathedral. The National Museum is close to the Plaza de la Democracia, the Jade Museum and the Legislative Assembly building.
To the west you can find the Parque de la Merced, which owes its name to being in front of the Church called Nuestra Señora de la Merced; nearby is the San Juan de Dios Hospital.
Finally, at the west end is the La Sabana Metropolitan Park, where families or athletes can recreate; The National Stadium is located within this, a place where various activities are carried out such as national and international soccer matches, as well as massive events.
San José is definitely worth visiting.
