Yes!!! It’s a bliss! I can’t imagine a summer/autumn without Samos holidays. I realized that September is actually the best time to visit! Sea is peaceful too around this time of the year 😊

how feasible is it to live there year round? too empty in the winters?

It is beautiful to live in the island even in winter time! There is a big university in Karlovasi so the city is always vibrant with young people and families, then also the villages offer a great day trip with amazing views and taverns with local food and fireplace!

Hi. we will visit Samos in August. Tell me please the average cost of a taxi on the island. Is it worth going to the blue street in Pythagoria? Which beach is the most beautiful in your opinion? Thanks

That is amazing! I hope you have a great time in Samos! I think the average price of taxi is around 5-10€ for short trips from city to the beach. Pythagoreio is great, I definitely recommend visiting. I have posted another video on my channel about best beaches in the island (seitani, Glykoriza just to name a few). @@elenibert our hotell will be in Karlovassi. As i see its far away from the Pythagoria 😳 how much do you think taxi will cost? Because my husband do not want rent the car 🤪🤷‍♀️

Karlovasi is a good choice!! That’s my hometown, it combines everything! There is a nice beach bar in Potami beach called Hippy’s with very good coffee and food. Also a nice cocktail place nearby called Del Mundo. And since you will be in Karlovasi definitely go to Mesaio Karlovasi square for food and ouzo! (There are two great taverns there) As for the taxi I suspect it might be a bit expensive to go all the way to Pythagoreio so you can try the local buses that connect Karlovasi to Vathy, Pythagoreio and other nice beaches. The bus stop is at Karlovasi’s main square where you can find more information on routes. I hope this was helpful and that you have a great time in Samos this summer!! 🤩
