About “Didjira”
“Didjira” is a Nawda male first name literally meaning “May it (the house) stand firm” or “May it stand”. This first name embodies the belief in the solidity and stability of the home, making the house much more than just a place, but a lasting refuge where precious moments flourish.
Interesting to note, the equivalent of “Didjira” in Ewe, another Togolese language, is “Apélété”.
Choosing local names for my "House Design" projects is an intentional decision. This goes beyond aesthetics; it is a way of showcasing the culture and linguistic diversity of Togo on a global scale.
