Sean, thanks so much! We would LOVE to visit Ireland, too. Maybe you can point us in the right direction when it comes time to plan our trip! 👍 -Howard
We go to Alaska next summer 2024. I am glad to hear you talk about gluten free food and where we can get it!! I was worried about that. Please keep talking about gluten free places to eat on your travels!
Thanks, Terri and excited for your trip to Alaska! Katelyn tries to keep her gluten intake low and she feels better when she does. We try to mention whenever we find places and GF meals, like Italy was quite the surprise! Lots of options throughout the country. 👍 -Howard
You guys are just too cute! Loving the beautiful tour, your photographic talents and your escapades at the spa! I can tell you I had a big smile on my face during the entire video. Thank You….I needed a lot more smiling happening in my life right now. Travel safely but have a fabulous time doing so. I am loving all your videos!…and happy 35th birthday, honey!
Yeah, I'm with Howard. No cold plunge for me. And an ice cream shop in Alaska? Those Alaskans sure are some show-offs about their toughness for the cold. Happy birthday Katelyn!
A very happy birthday Katelyn!! Very nice to spend it with good friends on adventures in Alaska. Awesome episode as always you two. That Spa at the end looked really cool. Peace and Calm. 👍🏻😎🇨🇦

Happy belated birthday- Oh I am envious ( in a nice sort of way)! That was an epic video with fabulous content. Every activity had a wow factor. 🙏 🇳🇿 🙋♀️ 🇳🇱
At the beginning of your video, that beach was beautiful, and add an eagle..perfection..🙂. Love how the puppies loved the beach,so cute. Also,a big happy birthday Sweetie, you don’t look your age!!.I hope you had a wonderful birthday. The food looked delicious as always, your friends are so sweet. Love the birthday hats, you and Howard are so cute..😘.Thé Wildlife tour was amazing to see. Actual Orcas in the waters, and Sea Otters, unbelievable!! So beautiful. To bad you didn’t have more time, but what you did see was amazing.Just to let you know,I still jump in puddles too.haha…So proud of Howard,he found sea glass!! Scout was so good, she waited for her treats. The spa looked so relaxing, the tub of cold water is something else.Bravo to you for jumping in,and for Howard ,who eventually did it..lol.I think Spa days are the best, you never want to leave. Love the face masks!! For sure, everyone needs a spa day. Thank you for this adventurous video, both amazing and relaxing.
Thank you so much!!! 🥰🙌 This was certainly an incredible couple of days. We couldn't believe we got to see Orcas! It really was incredible. Agree about the spa day, so nice! And it was a bargain too which is even better. Haha! Thanks so much for always watching! ❤️❤️❤️ -Katelyn
🥶😂 We were laughing so hard at his reaction! It really was freezing cold. Easily one of our favorite places in Alaska! So beautiful. But I feel like we say that every week 😆 -Katelyn
Happy Birthday! And this video is so awesome! This takes me back to the summer that I lived on the Homer Spit in the 90's. It was one of the best summers of my life. And I caught a 40lb King Salmon in that fishing hole too.
Thank you Marion! 🥰 Wow! That's awesome that you spent a summer living there, I'm sure you have some wonderful memories. That's incredible you caught a fish that big there. Wow! How hard was that to reel in?! 😳🎣 -Katelyn
@@NewstateNomads It took a half hour. My boyfriend at the time refused to help me reel it in but he went ahead and made sure to untangle the fishing line from all the other fisherman (as you know, it can be "combat fishing" over there with it being so packed.) I'm glad he insisted that I reel it in myself because it was such a great experience of accomplishment. Oh, and it was the first fish that I ever caught in my life. Alaska is a magical place for me.
Love us some Homer! As always great vid. Also we hit that Sub button, sorry thought we did it back when ya visited our little beach town (Ormond Beach FL). We really enjoy you’re vids and style of travel is very similar. Keep bringing that strong content!
Happy Belated Birthday!! As a belated present, Canada is giving you a much more relaxed return to the lower 48 once your Alaskan explorations are done. Check out the hot springs. :-)
Enjoying the videos, I really like seeing them on Alaska. Alaska is a good place to spend your birthday, Happy Birthday. Seeing the wells was pretty cool. Actually spent my birthday in Florida last year, don't know it's going to happen this year.
Enjoying this series on Alaska. My husband liked the backpack you used in this episode. I did not see it in your Amazon store. Would you mind telling me what brand and style or “model” it is?
Thanks and glad you found us! You do NOT need reservations for the Homer city owned camping (all first come), but there are private campgrounds with hookups on the Spit as well that DO take reservations. Just depends on what you're looking for in a campsite! 👍 -Howard
You're quite welcome Gene! Has it changed much since then or does it look pretty similar? ☺️ We're so glad we got to go this time! We missed it during our trip in 2019.
@@NewstateNomads It looks exactly the same, except a lot more money hanging. I left my business card there 30 years ago. You didn't see it did you? HAAA!
John, thanks so much! Alaska was shot entirely on GoPro and a little on our Pixel phones. Starting with Kauai, we switched to a Sony A7IV as our primary camera. 👍
@@NewstateNomads what model Gopro? We are planning an Alaska Vacation next summer and thinking about picking up a camera. I lived in Yukon for 2 years but didnt make it to Alaska. So hopefully all goes well and next year it happens. The following year it will be all the way East to Newfoundland.
Apologies, RU-vid doesn't make it easy for us to know when there is another reply (you have to manually go in and select "new replies" but no further notifications...)! It's a GoPro Hero Black 10. All our camera gear is in our Amazon shop, too! amzn.to/3QfIFE1
We are planning a trip to Homer in late June. How realistic would it be to expect to find lodging without a reservation? We want to have freedom and done care where we stay but want to find a place to stay.
For clarification, you are not traveling in an RV, right? There are several hotels both in town and along the Spit. Given how short the season is in Alaska, are you looking for flexibility in the dates? -Howard
Happy (belated) birthday Katelyn! Also Howard: I didn't know you had a potty mouth sir! Jokes aside, you guys look like you're having an amazing time!!
Hi Linda! The Spit campgrounds (dry camping) run by the city are first come, first served. There's ALSO a private campground (full hookups) on the Spit that takes reservations. 👍 -Howard
@@NewstateNomads We are headed to Maine in October and hope if things don't get worst and they close the border, because we want to see the reversing river at St. Johns NB.
Same but different! We saw them side by side here in Alaska, and you can tell a difference. blog.nature.org/science/2015/12/23/holiday-treat-what-difference-between-reindeer-caribou/
