I love how you "soften" a balloon. When I was first learning twisting years ago, the artist that taught me always used the phrase "burp" the balloon to let the air out. It always sounded gross. Even though I understand why now, I think the term soften explains it so much better for a beginner!
Hi Pete. You're very welcome - glad the first design has worked for you. The second version is more challenging but you're well on your way! It took me ages to master the poodle tail and I only really became confident with it after I came up with the method which I demonstrate in this video. Take care, Melanie 🎈
I am all new to balloon twisting and I bought a Qualatex balloon pump like the one you are using but looking at you doing your pumps you get air every time you go in and out but i only get air when i pump out if you know what i mean, I am not getting air on every stroke. Could my pump be defective, should it be pumping like yours on every stroke. Love your videos..
@@sashaenterpriseskk it might be worth checking the Qualatex name is on the pump as there are some very similar lime and pink handpumps that aren't Qualatex but the look very similar until you see them side by side. Best wishes, Melanie
Give them a go and see how you get on. The metallic balloons are a bit firmer to work with but your balloon animals will look amazing with the metallic finish. I'd love to know how you get on. Take care, Melanie
@@BalloonArtworks Thanks! My little poodle came quite nice, I had ear mufflers on in case it pops 😆 and I was truly surprised how it took the turns without popping! Love your poodle bubble on the end of the tail!😘
For beginner twisters, I recommend sticking to the basic fashion colours whilst getting to grips with the techniques. Pearl finishes feel thicker and are stiffer to twist. Chromes 260s are longer than fashion colours. Also beginners need to practice, so why spend the extra on Chromes for practice balloons. That's why I recommend sticking with fashion colours for practice.
