Today we are joining EcoSEAker for swimming with dolphins in New Zealand. Not only that but we are swimming with Hector’s dolphins, the world’s smallest species.
We head to Daly’s Wharf for our dolphin swimming tour in Akaroa. Within about 20 minutes we see our first pod of dolphins for dolphin swimming where we spend at least 45 minutes in the water with them. For the rest of the tour we see other wildlife in Akaroa such as seals, shags, penguins and albatross.

Awww that's cool! I tell you what, just for you I will publish a 1-Hour Dolphin Extravaganza in Tauranga so you can experience a NZ dolphin cruise in "real time" despite being so far. I'll schedule it for the end of the month because I have already scheduled videos for next week. Probably on the 28th of Feb :)

Do these swimsuits help you float naturally ? Does one need to be a very good swimmer for this activity ?

Yes the wetsuits do provide natural buoyancy which is very helpful for less confident swimmers :)

I remember doing that about 15 years ago... could barely see anything coz the water was sooo murky. Alls I could see were little black fins sticking out of the water like little sharks

Yeah the water conditions are a real important factor for this kind of trip. The visibility was good (not perfect) this time around so we got lucky and saw plenty! It was a real treat!

To adress that wet camera problem: Get a waterhousing from Outex. Reviews are really good.

Good tip! We only saw some real expensive camera case when looking around before this trip. Most of them were like $800!!!!!! But the good news is that the camera is fine, we'll be able to use it for the rest of the trip , or until the next accident haha!
