I don't think there are enough units that count and I'm sorry if anyone likes them but I also don't believe there are enough interesting things to say about them. At least donnel and mozu. You have to do a lot of work to make them good and sure they have aptitude but I mean you could just have a unit with naturally higher growths without using an ability slot at least they can pass it on to a child of your choosing and that's cool but idk if we're using any relevant standard by which we judge whether a unit is good or not, I'd say donnel>mozo but both near the bottom of the list.

@@vigbjornblaskeeg5813I’ve seen a lot more praise for mozu than donnel, she seems to have unique utility in her access to the archer class line whereas donnel is just kind of a good training project with an awful start in a game full of good training projects with much better starts

they still technically are pre-promotes, the code defines Horsemen as a promoted Hunter and likewise a promoted class, but there's no item that promotes Hunters so they just can't promote despite having a promotion

This. I was wondering about too since there's plenty of prepromote Sages/Bishops you get thoughout the series and I'm curious how Mekkah would tier them. Though I figure we already know Wendell is easily high tier.

They're all on the archer tier list I'm pretty sure - and by all I mean Python and Leo, cause the villagers don't really count.

Lionheart is not bad but I find him kinda frustratingly mid. His base weapon level of 10 is such an elusive number since it locks him out of many interesting swords and bows at base. I find this particularly a big deal b/c swords and bows get a lot of tools at higher weapon levels that really distinguish them from a lot of the mediocre ones at lower weapon levels, but his base weapon level does not give him access to many of those interesting tools within the weapon types. For a mounted unit that will never get Pilum access, and prepromote that gains levels to self-improve slower, this is rather disappointing. And you notice you just have a lot better mounted units than him in stats or utility, whether it be a growth project or the better mounted prepromotes. He is decent filler, but I struggle to register him as anything more than that. Meanwhile Shirou... Kaga's mounted bowmen in his later titles are generally better.

I'd argue he's worse than Azelle!Lester. They both get only pursuit but Azelle!Lester at least gets a nice speed growth making him deal more damage overall by virtue of doubling more often.

@@papita69xxx Dimna's speed growth is a pretty terrible 20% but his base of 9 is enough to get the common slow enemies. I think Dimna's +7 str is more significant.

@@mysmallnoman I'm aware, I'm saying that that's actually pretty low for the capabilities they usually perform. If you think Mekkah's rankings are fair then good for you, but I still think A and C are too low for the both of them.

@@greatdane7252 no lol Shin is a good unit tho putting him in S is dumb because that implies he's busted, which he isn't, there's still so many units who are better than him in the game Sue is good but lvl 1 nomad with 5 str base and 30% str sucks, she needs tons of work, C tier is perfect for her

@@mysmallnoman Sin is absolutely busted, dodge tanks are the most reliable combatants in FE6 Endgame and Sin is a prime dodge tank, on top of the anti-flier niche that Snipers and Warriors have. His bases are immediately reliable enough to mostly be RNG proof, but on average he'll actually be way ahead of the general statistical curve of other FE6 units in the most important areas (Strength, Speed and HP). Not to mention he has the same extra high aid and movement that the Pegasus Knights have minus the flier utility. His biggest weakness is his low Sword rank upon promotion, which means he likely won't be able to use Killing Edges until either late Sacae or Bern, his initial rank of D bows is also less than desirable but he still slaughters a majority of enemies with the Iron and Steel Bows until C. This all comes in Chapter 9, which is perfect for the upcoming hectic village chapter and from that point on he's by far the best Bow user in the game, bar none. Even once Melady and Perceval roll in he's still an important contributor to the army, as he's a much more reliable Player Phase combatant than either of them thanks to his better accuracy. This all screams S tier worthy. As for Sue, I think you're overstating the issue, even at base the Killer Bow makes her one of the most reliable early game combatants and her speed makes her practically undoubleable so she usually avoids 2HKOs with proper positioning. She's especially good for killing the Wyverns in Chapter 7. If the RNG isn't in her favor then she can safely be benched after Sin joins, but until then she's one of the best growth units in the earlygame, probably even more so than Alan and Lance, and if the RNG is in her favor then she will be a mini Sin, which is actually pretty desirable if you really think about it.

1) being a bow unit in FE1 sucks because it's a EP game and bows suck 2) Parthia doesn't give you bonus xp in FE1, only 3 and even then it only has 17 uses lol 3) many bad units are used in LTC and speedruns strats all the time lol, that doesn't make them suddenly good units
