Of all the times I've been stomped by Green Devotion, I'm surprised the draws weren't hitting this video. I feel like everyone I come across is turn 2 kiora, turn 3 karn, turn 4 play whatever broken garbage karn tutored.

man my monogreen elves deck from before leyline was banned was messed up. Took 1st in local pioneer for a month straight. Same as when the boros feather deck was still good, 1st place for a month.

i dont think sprawl would be removed from the deck, its better than a dork as it doesnt get killed by most removal and is a nightmare for midrange decks who need to kill your t1 play to survive

The gist of the combo, once you have Karn and Kiora in your graveyard, is: Tap Nykthos for a bunch of mana, cast Karn, minus Karn to fetch Pestilent Cauldron, cast Kiora, minus Kiora to untap Nykhtos, cast Restorative Burst, get 5 life and fetch Karn and Kiora from the graveyard back to your hand. As long as you have more than two mana left-over, you can start the process again, getting your current Karn and Kiora into the graveyard in the process so that you can fetch them again, netting you infinite life and infinite mana. The Chain Veil on top would give you infinite Karn activations and two Nykthos activations per cycle, so it's faster and more versatile, but you can go infinite without it either way. With infinite Karn activations you can fetch a black mana source and use the Pestilent Cauldron to mill your opponent as an alternative wincon.

Also noteworthy: once you have infinite/enough Mana, you can take a break from the full loop and restoburst something other than a Kiara to win. Like another Karn to get something from the sideboard, or everything in the graveyard. That's sometimes faster for Arena than building up enough Mana (and finding black) for the cauldron mill.

This deck is a huge problem in Pioneer. Played against a very interesting incarnation the other day where opponent was using Nissa who shakes the world, and it was very strong synergy with Nykthos and Kiora. It makes me feel that, honestly, Damping sphere is a viable mainboard card, now, especially as Lotus Field is a pretty good deck in Pioneer as well.

This is a really unhinged way of viewing the world around you, everyone that has a career based around content creation does advertising, same with people on tv, radio, sports, etc. It's how the world works, grow up. Jim, like basically every high profile MTG player out there, has always been very honest in his criticism of WotC, and he's right that WotC is in the process of ruining Historic which is easily one of the best formats atm since it's basically the only format truly open to brewing atm but adding more MH power level cards to it is going to completely ruin it. How does constantly talking about how WotC is ruining their own game make him a shill anyways?
