Is the mistake stating that German has a longest word? Or if you mean the longest word in the dictionary, apparently in November 2022, Duden said it was Rinderkennzeichnungsfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz, also with 79 letters. The longest word in Welsh, with 58 letters, is Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, a village on the Isle of Anglesey. It was contrived in the 19th century in order to give a railway station the longest name in the country, so as to attract tourists and create extra business for the railway company that owned it. In English it roughly means 'St. Mary’s Church in the Hollow of the White Hazel near a Rapid Whirlpool and the Church of St. Tysilio near the Red Cave.' The longest word in English that is in the dictionary has 45 letters and is pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis, the full name of silicosis. This is a diease caused by breathing in crystalline silica dust, which damages the lungs and causes shortness of breath. Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia is the fear of long words. I hope no Germans suffer from this.

I’m the same way. As long as there are subtitles, I’m good, but just spoken language, I only catch about half of what’s being said

Yeah , but that is a great signal and indication that's new thing for our mind and it starts to grasp german just like a tolder strats to walk . Keep it up 👍✌️
