Learned a number of things about my new car, thanks! - One of the features you did not mention is the "charge mode" Press and hold the HV/EV button and the gas engine will charge the traction battery. It will also decrease your MPG especially if you are not travelling at a steady higher rate so use it wisely. If you aren't going to use EV mode to make use of that power you just stored, it is a net loss. - With regard to the menus in the screen, besides pressing the menu button you can finger swipe up to show them, down to hide. - The A/C button on the fob will turn on the climate control for 10 minutes to whatever it was when you shut down so do this within 10 minutes of your planned departure time. This is the same as setting pre-departure climate control (if the car is not plugged in, the doors must be locked when using that feature). Using the button on the fob will lock the car before starting the climate control. The ICE will NOT start, this features uses heat pumps.
It’s very beautiful looking car , very tastefully made , I would love to own this car some day , kudos to toyota for making such a beautiful car , love u toyota
It does everything they said it does. Love the mileage I get on it! I’m still learning about all the cool options. I especially love the parallel parking feature
Just subbed. We looked at 2017 prius primes a couple days ago. The cheapest we could find was $22,000 with 55 miles. Of course, I would try to negotiate a lower price. But we decided to wait until the 2019's come out in Feb-March, then 2017's will go down more in price. We are in Los Angeles where everything's higher anyway. Enjoyed the video. Thank you
Luxottica, that's a great price. The car salesman where we saw the Prius Prime for $22,000 called me and said they would go down to $19,500 for that same Prius Prime. I said "out the door" and he said "no." I have a feeling that one's going to auction. They'll be sorry they didn't sell it to me at that price.
Ty. Love how detailed you get. I really think plug in hybrids are the way to go. Charge at home/work to cover commute, then gas for the long trips. Loved your Honda Clarity tour too. MAY THE LEGENDARY POINTER LIVE ON!
just wanna let you know that I'm a brand new Toyota associate and I've been watching all your 2018 Toyota videos in conjunction with my Toyota training.
Samurai Shampoo it'll prolly look the same. I mean the design has a futuristic look to it so I don't see it changing any time soon.. Plus past Priuses barely got refreshed ( exterior changes were very minor)
Just bought my 2018 Accord after watching your videos couple of time. Thanks for your detailed and professional review. It helps me a lot when I made my decision. Good luck!
Loved this review! Thank you! I was curious about the back hatch and this video explained it! Love the see through glass on it's light display back there
I got the Premium and I prefer it because; 1. The auto sensing rear view mirror never dims enough when a big truck is behind you. I have another car with this feature and it doesn't dim enough. Flipping up the mirror is a tried and tested solution. This also makes it way cheaper to replace the front window as there aren't any wires. 2. I owned a vehicle with a heated steering wheel and I never used it. Maybe it would be nice for those living in a cold climate. One more thing to go wrong. Heated seats on the other hand, aah! 3. Rear hatch privacy cover. The soft one that comes with the premium is flexible so you can load up the rear with groceries and it doesn't interfere with closing the hatch. It's alos easy to remove and store away. The hard one is like stowing a tripod. 4. I have fog lights on my other vehicle and I never use them. I could go over all of the features but you get the idea. This ad ons are great if you will use them. I save several thousand dollars and got all of the important features that I want.
What I don't like about the dash is how far away and small that shared instrument panel screen is, and I don't like how the center touch screen goes up about 1.5 inches too high and blocks that panel behind it.
Next year (or one after) we should be getting Android Auto since Car Play is available on the 2019 Avalon. Thank God, that huge display will finally get real use.
I love the pointing hand! Reminds me of Soupy Sales with Fang and Snagglepoos. Where do I get one? Great video and very helpful as I'm a 2X Prius owner. Thanks.
Thank you for the very thorough review and describing all the features in so much detail, especially the infotainment system, which was something I was concerned about for its complexity. I listened to your whole review at 2x speed on youtube and it was perfectly clear.
But when it comes to the Prius. I could ignore the ugly front and back, but the interior with all the white and shiny black plastic look like they are impossible to keep clean. not to mention the lack of andoid auto and voice commands. The ioniq looks so much better, does pretty much the same (minus some features) and is cheaper.
Nice review, i am still thinking of getting this car, but still hangup on this and 2018 Chevy Volt. would be nice to also see a review on the Chevy too
Still the best reviewer, good job Mike's! My fiance has been looking for a new car, this might just do it. She doesn't need speed, just gas. And question, have you been able to review for VW? Id love to see a review of the golf gti, I'm looking to get one.
Anyone live in Arizona or New Mexico that owns 1 of these? Let me know how the center (tablet)infotainment screen holds up against your 120 plus heat as well as all the rest of the plastic in a Pruis?
Can't find the answer to this...once the 25 miles on EV are driven and the plug-in battery is exhausted, does driving the car in hybrid mode ever recharge THAT battery, or does it recharge only the batteries used for hybrid use? Thank you to anyone in advance.
@@MikesCarInfo Thanks, man! Would be great if a long road trip could replenish the EV battery. But I understand if it's designed to only fully recharge with wall current.
@Anthony C you can put it in what Toyota calls charge mode I do believe you can recharge it a good bit with charge mode hope this helps I was looking into getting one of these because I'm tired of paying a crap ton of money on gasoline I hope big oil goes out of business
There is a half sized A/C car battery that powers accessories and then the hybrid battery. The hybrid battery can be charged from a wall outlet or Hybrid mode. Several videos cover this.
