Hello there is nothing new in this cover For example, in Russia we have been stitching together documentation and personal files in this way for a long time and also criminal cases accounting and reports For example, I used this method to stitch together my diploma project and term paper
This is a very durable and simple binding. When I had acquired a rare book or Ms, I would carefully scan them, and burn them onto a DVD-Rom. Then, using an inkjet printer, I would make a copy, single or double sided, onto decent quality cotton bond. These I typically stab-sewed, as You have demonstrated, and then gave the block a sturdy "library case". The originals would get archived, and the copies were available for study. I would also glue up the leaves at the spine to prevent any shifting.
While I use a dremmel for super thick stacks, I’ve had luck using a pointed Phillips screwdriver in a pinch. As long as it has a reasonably sharp point you can use it as a pseudo-drill on paper and cardboard (and it’s much easier on the wrist than an awl if you have a lot of sheets to pierce).
this was extremely useful and to the point video. perfect! I'm gonna bind some pages I've got laying around soon using this method.. thanks! BTW, I love your pair of scissors !
I've spent the last week relentlessly searching for bookbinding methods and watching dozens of videos and, trust me, this was one of the fastest and easiest I could find. In fact, it's the one I'm going to use for my books.
Hello! You can use a hobby drill, a punch, or just a hammer with a nail. www.amazon.com/-/es/dp/B07FSBY9GV?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzeasybook-20&creativeASIN=B07FSBY9GV&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.6W7EFIQ0YMS1&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ons_mixed_d_asin www.amazon.com/-/es/dp/B00004T7R3?linkCode=ssc&tag=onamzeasybook-20&creativeASIN=B00004T7R3&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.6W7EFIQ0YMS1&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ons_mixed_d_asin
Hello ! I recommend you make sewn bindings like the one in this video or these other videos ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O6ckDDRBArM.htmlsi=vqXV59qTqvKtBraU ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ShcYQv0l27Q.htmlsi=I_JnnaTy13AZb0cp
Hello! In the case of this method it can only be done with cardboard as covers. For hard covers you would have to follow this tutorial ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ShcYQv0l27Q.htmlsi=khjVaXkEkWhdx_QW
Hello ! Yes, you could, but you would have to peel off the covers, cut the thread and re-sew with the added leaves and finally you will have to cut a new cover since it will change the height of the spine
@bookbindig_studio So basically start over. I was looking for a bind where I could just insert new pages since the number of the pages increases over time. Any fine ideas or tutorials?
@@ImagineGamingPlay I don't have any binding tutorial so you can do that 😕. I can only think of looking for ring bindings, but there is nothing like that on my channel
I'm going to use this for a class where we'll add pages as we go. I plan to make a bow instead of a double knot until the end. This way I can untie it when we have new pages and add them in. At the end I'll add the cover.
Hello ! 1300 sheets are a lot of sheets! I suggest you divide the amount and make several bindings. Up to 250 sheets I did it this way and it works well
@@aaminathegreat Hello ! No, the problem with loose sheets is that you will always depend on a seam to prevent them from coming off, or in the case of using adhesive you will run the risk of them coming off when opening the binding at 180º. That's the truth, I wouldn't like to lie to you
Informative, though I really wish this guy would speak and give a little more insight then the little bit of text on the screen. Like what kind of paper should you use. How long should you wait until the glue dries, stuff like that.
Hello ! In the video description you have a list of supplies that you can use as a guide. In any case, you can use any paper and cardboard for the covers. As for the glue, I cannot say how long it takes to dry since that depends on the glue you use and where you live, for example, there are glues that have more water and if you live in a humid place, logically it will take longer to dry. dry than if you use an adhesive with little water and live in a dry place...Therefore, it is best that you see on your own when it is dry Supplies and links 👇👇👇 Hobby Drill amzn.to/3EI6QEM Awl amzn.to/3JSLRBL Waxed Thread amzn.to/3Jz4slj Curved Sewing Needles amzn.to/3EcfJoO Book Binding Stainless Steel Needles amzn.to/3FBVXET Binder clips amzn.to/3V1T5a5 Colored Cardstock 180 gsm A4 (Check the measurements ) amzn.to/40oiKfl Cutting ruler amzn.to/3ySvdME Cutter amzn.to/3FCPYzy Bookbinding kit amzn.to/3OeLjXA
