I had a lot of fun making this video and I hope you found it helpful. If you do, please share it with anyone who needs it. Thank you for watching! :)

Everything you argued for in this video is good, but why do people stick with these online products. One could do all of this by just using an offline IDE (PyCharm, VSCode, etc.), with the advantage of being able to use it offline. And all of this has been available for well over a decade. I can see one advantage of using this online stuff: easy share-ability of code for teaching purposes. Outside of this, I'm honestly surprised and shocked that people studying Data science are so heavily reliant on Jupyter, Colabs, _etc._ (all of which are very constrained tools), instead of becoming well versed in standard IT practices like using IDEs, setting up proper code bases (and structuring them instead of dumping everything in the root folder), git / version control, using docker, _etc._

@@Thuvu5 I used jupyterlab from 2018-2020, because I enjoyed connecting to remote linux server with it. However, I switched to vscode as well. The plugins of jupyterlab are sxcks. I tried the plugins like git and variable explorer. Something basic are still horrible. With extensions like remote development, python and jupyter, vscode is much jupyter than jupyterlab.

@@Thuvu5 you could view CSVs in VS Code for years. You also have proper intellisense for a myriad of languages in a proper IDE. Intellisense + the ability to work offline is a huge advantage to an online tool.

I started using labs after I took the IBM data analyst cert and they also said labs is suppose to be better then notebook and I think they said notebook will be phased out or something like that. But, during the assignments of IBM cert the labs kept glitching out on some code, so I had to switch back to notebook to finish the assignment. That one experience has jaded me lol. Plus, I don't use notebook enough to even notice much difference. Although I was unaware of the excel viewing in labs, which is cool. Also, I kind of hated how labs directory just put all my files in one place, and I gave up trying to figure out how to sort/org my labs folder directory. I had 50+ and it was getting to hard to find anything on start up, which my pseudo OCD would kick in everytime i looked at the folder directory and it would stress me out.
@Thuvu5
