A top 5 list with our favourite cities in our favourite region of Spain, ANDALUSIA. #andalusia -------------------- Welcome to Road trip Spain & Portugal, where we help you prepare the perfect road trip with lots of tips and information.
I lived in Triana in Sevilla and have been to all of these cities many times. I'd rank them: 5) Cadiz, 4) Malaga, 3) Cordoba, and 2/1 basically a tie between Sevilla and Granada. IMO.
That’s what I really enjoy in Spain… each city has its own charm. 👍 But my favorite city was Granada. I really enjoyed walking through the Alhambra Palace and the Ciry proper . But I was in awe when I visited the Mezquita, in Cordoba. I haven’t seen Malaga and Cadiz. That’s in my future travel plans. Hope I get to visit Spain soon! Thanks Tony for sharing another wonderful video of your beautiful country. c”,)
Hi Jasper, Granada is such a wonderful destination. We were in Córdoba last week, fell in love again. Andalusia is simply spectacular. Thanks for commenting, as ever! Kind regards!
Awesome video I did spend 1 week in Torremolinos and did day trips to Seville, Malaga, Granada and Cordoba but didn't go to Cadiz although I did go to Gibraltar. I would also include Ronda as well
Many thanks Tony, just back from Spain, did cities 1 - 3 in this video, agree that they are wonderful smaller cities. Hope you can cover the national parks in Andulucia at some point, they will be on my list to do. Thanks for the tips
Hello there, we would love to cover the national parks in Andalusia but, to be honest, it's going to take a while, we have such a huge backlog of trips accumulated over the COVID period that it will take us a while. But will get there eventually. All the best!
You are outstanding with your videos! I've watched and loved them all! Do you have a video showing longer stays in Andalusia? I plan to spend two months (February and March, 2024) taking a relaxing break from my winters that go anywhere all the way down to -40C. Thank you!
Thanks Carolyn! We haven't got any content for long stays, we are still at the stage where we are trying to convince people that Granada is not a day trip 😀 Have a superb stay!
Your videos are so informative. We are planning are very first trip during Christmas week to Andalusia and I have been carefully collecting your videos to be my guide. We are planning a road trip to all the major cities which is both exciting and overwhelming.
Great to hear that, Syeda. Bear in mind that the car won't be of any use in the cities you will be visiting, you will have to find a hotel offering parking spaces. All the best!
@@vtiredmom you're welcome! The car is great for road trips. For cities, is a true headache (for instance, you can't enter Granada's city centre by car). All the best!
thank you for your wonderful channel. Certainly agree with your reviews. With our coming second trip to Andalusia; (third for Spain) we will also explore the " less known places" of Ronda (and nearby blue and white towns), Caminito del Rey, Antequerra (Dolmen de Menga), Almeria, Mojacar and Pulpi Geode. On the way we will pass Guadalupe and Merida. Your thoughts?
Thank your for your kind words! You are absolutely right, Andalusia is an endless source of incredible places. In the White Towns, do not miss Vejer de la Frontera, Arcos de la Frontera, Grazalema, Zahara de la Sierra and Setenil de las Bodegas, all incredible in their own way. Your trip sounds excellent. All the best!
Hi Tony, The best and most informative channel ! Quick questions, I and husband are planning to stay for 2 days in Cordoba. What all do you recommend us to do and see? We are quiet people with love for history, arts, culture, books and music. Best Regards from both of us to you and your wife!
Hi Arunima, check out our video on Córdoba here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2tTlT68kxEo.html and also the one on Medina Azahara here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0A3LZKB-E8w.html All the best!
Hi Tony, we really like all your videos. We are going to Spain, Andalucía region in May for 19 days. Are there any civil issues right now, like strikes and such like France is experiencing?
Hi Tony We are including Morocco in our trip to Spain. When we finish 3 nights in Granada, we're going to Tarifa, probably via Ronda, then the ferry to Tangier. Can we hire a car in Granada and drop it off in Tarifa? Tarifa doesn't seem to have an office for Hertz, Avis, Budget, etc.
Hi Max, Tarifa is a small town with no major car rental companies. Seems returning a hire car in Tarifa will be a major challenge, as you have found out.
The route is possible by public transport (either train or buses). We intend to create a consultancy service to help with queries like yours, but so far it is at a planning stage.
Hi, I'm planning a trip to Andalusia in October and initially, thinking to base in Cordoba and to do day trips out to Seville, Malaga and Granada. However, after checking the train prices, it seems pretty expensive, costing an estimate of Euro300. Is there any cheaper alternatives besides taking the bus?? Or is there any regional trains where I can do Seville --> Malaga --> Granada --> Cordoba?? Thank you !
Hello, we recommend a minimum of three nights in Seville or Granada, and two in Málaga, which rules them out completely as day trips. To get the best train fares you need to buy the tickets for as long in advance as possible.
Hello Tony! Planning a first time visit in Andalucia. Thinking of staying 5 nights. Any suggestions on which cities to include? I would rather enjoy a place than changing trains every day.
Hi Shuma, there will be a video on the subject in a few weeks time, but in the meantime have a look at the video on how to use the airport metro, there is a section on the video explaining how to buy the Madrid transport tickets: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NHcY9tJVvNI.html Kind regards!
@@shumakazi3908 we intend to talk about the metro systems of Madrid and Barcelona in the future, but right now we need more time to produce the videos! Kind regards.
Hi Tony, thank you for this informative video and many others on Spain! My family of 3 will be exploring Andalusia for about 6 days. My thoughts is that we will set base in one city for 5 nights and do day trips to the various locations in Andalusia. Is this a good idea, and where would you recommend as the base if budget is a concern and there is good train/bus networks to the various sights?
Hello CK, we don't think having one base is a good idea in the specific case of Andalusia. We recommend a minimum of three nights in Seville and three nights in Granada, and then one night in Córdoba if possible. So that would be our advice, stay in Seville, Granada and Córdoba. There is a good transportation network connecting the cities and within the cities themselves. All the best. P.S.: we love Singapore!
@@tanck09 delighted to help. We've been five times to SG, and can't see the time to go back. Always discovering new fascinating places - never mind the food, we haven't eaten so well anywhere else in the planet.
we are planning a second road trip in Andalusia for our World tour on our main channel, Old Soles Travel. thanks for the inspiration. we hope you will check out our upcoming vlogs on this and many other areas. cheers. subscribed and excited to follow your content.
Thank you, we are currently doing field work for a new road trip, and we will test yet another road trip, this time in Andalusia, at the beginning of July. As soon as we get back home we’ll check out your chabbel.
No need to be disappointed, Tom. This video is about cities and their attractions. Our advice on driving in cities is that, the biggest mistake you could make, as a traveler, is to drive your car in any city in Spain. But you will find general advice on driving in Spain here ➡️ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Be_F1VipXEQ.html
Cadiz, the most beautiful city in Andalusia? the people of Cádiz will be rubbing their eyes in disbelief... hahahaha... it will be for you that there are no beaches in your community. Cadiz is no more than a pleasant city to visit but It is a city with few monumental attractions. Whoever sees your list will believe that Cadiz is a great option to visit before other cities like Seville, Cordoba or Granada... and Seville the 4th? You have strange tastes... regards
All the cities except CADIZ. It is a dump with drunks and trash near the popular places. The city is rundown, high unemployment, is the ONE city in Andalusia I was sorry I went to. And I spent one month only in Andalusia. Ronda should be added. Cadiz is terrible.
