I have 3 Tvs with Firesticks ... It works FANTASTIC!! I tried Roku But it just doesn't have the side loads so it limited me in a big way...but on the firestick i found that with sideloading the world is mine .... Amazing APK's that helps with NO BUFFERRING and NO ADS... No Cable Just Internet & FireSticks ..... Yesssssssssssssssss!
Love your content I live outside the USA I have both Roku and fire stick and fire stick hands down is more easier and less restrictive than Roku, plus side loading on a fire stick is one of the plus why I went with firestick
I've left Roku alone about 5 years ago & didn't look back their devices are okay but it's not for me I perfer the firestick which is way better hands down nevertheless keep up the good work with the informational videos
I purchased a new large smart TV recently. At that time I never knew there was a difference between Roku, Android, Apple or FireTV. I do have two FireSticks and was lucky that I purchased a FireTV. I’m so glad I did and I try and recommend FireTV to my friends.
As a longtime cable subscriber ($200 avg bill per month) and Amazon Prime member (another $15 per month) I tried to cut the cord but with Firestick, I still have to pay for apps like Netflix, Showtime, Peacock, HBO Max, Live TV, etc. So the question is, how does a Firestick save money?
Your first mistake is not adding an IPTV. Then you can cancel cable and eliminate all those apps. We can help on Patreon. Also many free apps out there with all those services you mentioned.
If you're looking for a specific movie, show, etc, do you have to open every different app/service like disney+, Hulu, etc to find it? Or can you search or speak into the remote the title and it finds it for you in the appropriate platform?
Trying to understand my options, this is very helpful! Question: I currently have Roku and YTTV subscription. I want to drop YTTV (GETTING EXPENSIVE AS TIME GO ON). If I just have Amazon Prime and a Fire TV Stick will I still have the same type of content? I assume Amazon Prime is considered a "streaming service. Thanks in advance.
No you won't have what youtube tv offers. You would have to side load apps to get it. We have videos on patreon walking you through it (youtube does not allow these videos). It would be free for you and you would have all those channels
I enjoy having the ROKU channel on my fire stick and on my Samsung tv plus and I have a QUESTION about whether there is a way to select FAVORITE CHANNELS? When are that we have is the ALL CHANNELS only that’s a lot of uninteresting channels to have to scroll through all the time and I hope you know the procedure to manage Channels. Thank you for any suggestions you might have.
I have four televisions. I DVR everything so I can fast forward commercials. I wonder if I can watch my firestick shows on all my TVs throughout the house.
Firestick has the same feature. I actually cast my phone games to the TV. I also manage my work using the TV as my monitor from my macbook. Great feature. Nothing the roku has that the firestick doesn't have.
Hi. I've been using Roku for a few years. I have the Roku app on my phone and use that as the remote. I always use the private listening feature with blue tooth headphones. Can I do all of that with a firestick?
Yeah It is firestick all the way, on my second, you get Prime app on another device, mirrors your stick. Roku is ok but nothing original on there tha u can't find anywhere else.also I get stars and paramount for 11.99 for both. Also have Sling and they compliment each other nicely. And everything on the stick is 4k
I went from Firestick to Roku because it was so fucking slow, it was painfully laggy. That being said, fireTVs are much faster, but the stick is garbage and under powered.
It depends on the stick you got. They have a VERY CHEAP lite model. The 4k max is super fast and blows away any roku. Plus the ability to add cinemahd and get all moves and tv free is a game changer. Can't do it on the roku
Rumble takes ownership of your video and gets ad revenue on it. I won't give up video rights to them. Only people on rumble are usually people banned from youtube.
I cannot believe roku stock is doing well. I have a roku TV and almost NEVER watch through roku. I get that their valuation and their profits are all advertising based, but Prime is SO much better Prime has better native content. The way things are laid out on roku screen is terrible and doesn;t even have the same quantity, much less the way it is organized. AND I hate that roku has an IR remote and needs line of sight. Such a pain!
Roku is genius at marketing. Most don't actually buy Roku, but comes on their tv. So many don't know the true benefits of a firestick vs Roku. Always a fun topic
@@CuriosityCafe yes, the do the 'razorblade style of marketing They give away a handle and the first few blades then make money off refills Roku Gave away the hardware to a dozen TV mfgrs (built in to the set) and try to make money off the advertising and selling data. But if no one uses it natively and most of us port over to apple TV or Amazon Fire, and then over to our app. they might not get the same revenue that they would if we viewed hulu or netflix or paramount, etc through roku. I jump from the built in to amazon, then to netflix, etc. But yeah, the money maker for fire tv, for apple tv, for roku is the ads and the DATA.
No, if you read their terms, they take ownership of your videos and monetize them and take a huge percentage. I won't give up rights. Usually only RU-vidrs who are banned go that route.
What’s next? As far as I can tell, Amazon has done everything they can to discourage third party applications and can only see it getting worse. I love your channel but maybe we need to learn about what we need for the future. I am afraid fire stick is eventually going to become just like Roku.
You are correct. That's why I've shared so any alternatives to firesticks on Patreon. Most RU-vid won't allow us to share. But they are all there for you
Yep, it's restricted to the US. You have to download from aptoide store, not Amazon as they won't have it in their store. Most Canadians are on Patreon and we help with this
Some people love Roku. Great beginners device for those that already have and won't get rid of cable. Firestick for those that want to consider getting rid of cable, and android boxes for those and already cancelled cable and save hundreds every month. Pretty much sums it up.
@Curiosity Cafe OH DIDN'T KNOW THAT IVE BEEN WATCHING FIRESTICK CONTENT FOR YEARS SO MANY RU-vidRS HAS LOST THEIR CHANNELS BECAUSE OF RU-vid RULES DR.VENTURE BEING ONE OF THEM HE'S USES RUMBLE NOW TO EACH HIS OWN I GUESS WELL KEEP UP YOUR GOOD WORK
Yeah, Rumble is for those that can't get monetized or lost their channel. Gotta play by the rules. So I pay outrageous hosting fees to provide the info to members only. I don't make any money, but at least I don't give my work away for others to profit.
Roku SUCKS now. I just got one after not having one for several years... logged in... populated my apps... but none of them work.. they are not even available anymore.
@@CuriosityCafe To watch Spectrum services on Fire Stick does it require anything specific to access it? Noticing FireStick has 4 price ranges does any of these apply to better choices?
The reason is roku is garbage 🗑 you get what you pay for . With a fire 🔥 stick I can jailbreak it easy, jailbreak break means I'm in control not roku . The best streaming device on the market is nivida sheild . For gaming of for thing else. I'm a cord cutters , and would never ever purchase roku Again. I rather buy a apple 🍎 tv then a roku.
