Found an acorn superglide chairlift for stairs on Facebook marketplace for 700 which is cheap. We do the install and it saves lots of money over buying new.
Thank you so much for this video! I just bought one of these off of Craigslist for my 14 year old son and will be watching your video again when I'm ready to install it!
Thankyou for the comment I did this video at my parents house for my mom. I told them that this video may not get many views but if it helps at least 1 person it will be worth making. It was surprisingly easy to install.
@@PowerPlantMan Is there a way to possibly modify it to wrap around a staircase that is 7 steps up to a small landing and then another 7 steps? My husband is very, very handy!
@@nancypenfield3088 We have a similar staircase, though the first run is 10 steps and second is 3, we are changing the second set to a ramp to work around the steep cost of a wraparound lift.
a few folks asked if it can be installed on either side of the stairs, the answer is NO ! these are side specific, one end of the rail is angled to sit on the floor and unit the chair attaches to can only go on one way.. you must purchase the specific lift for the side you want to install it on
Remove the end stop/limit ramp from the top of the rail then slide the carriage onto the rail until it stops & switch the carriage on then use the remote control to engage the carraige cog onto the track
Hi how to manually winding the stairlift when the lift has got.no power? I have F6 sign. Also when doing manual winding how to remove the break? I can't wind it because i believe some break is engaged. Thanks
F6 is final limit switch is engaged. Wind the lift down until code clears. If the machine is not moving at all it means the OSG (over speed governor) is engaged. You need a tech for that
By chance do you know if it is reversible. Meaning can the same lift go on the left or the right of the stairs. Knowing the chair would need to be changed around. Thanks .randy
Help! My Brooks Superglide 120 has been working fine. Today it reads c4 but neither remote control nor either of the arm switches make it move. I've turned off and on, unplugged and replugged - still get C4 readout but no movement.
C4 actually means the stairlift is fully charged C1 means charging. E5 means the seat switch is has been activated, you need to press and hold the toggle and then see what comes up on the display to find the problem. PS stairlifts should be installed by factory trained engineers
@@somersetstairliftsltd1683 Thanks for the information! I realize things have progressed over time. Unfortunately several years ago when we purchased this we were informed that there were no qualified installers anywhere near where we live (somewhat rural area.) If that had been available then we certainly would have gone that route. Fortunately this is the first trouble we've had in these many years so I'm grateful for the folks we had install it.
Hi, It looks so simple. I want to know if required length is larger than how to extend to. Thanks and wait for your reply and do I need to make sure to left or right side or it works on both sides.
