This video is exactly why I like your channel, Robin. Honest, trustworthy reviews. Shocking (but not surprising) that a company like TF cuts off people if they give them anything less than stellar coverage. That’s exactly why it’s so hard to trust people on RU-vid etc. and it’s so obvious to tell when people are just giving great reviews in order to keep brands happy. It’s unethical. More power to ya. Keep it up! 👍

The dry down on cherry smoke is EVERYTHING. First spray is like Lost Cherry mixed with Tobacco Vanille.

One reason ive thought it could be, is whether the newer regulations have made it more difficult to make the rich smelling ones. The ones i notice mlst change in the smell, are those that used oud and "whale snot" and can no longer get the real stuff so use the engineered in the lab stuff. I have a dupe of MFK Baccarrat, which uses Ambergris and it smells exactly like the old 540, but the actual legit newer Bottle i have smells nothing like the old one i have. I have about 1 ml in my old bottle from 2016/17 and i darent use it because i know ill never find it again. (Although the dupe i mentioned is exact smell just not as long wearing)

Of all my fragrances and my wife's, Cherry Smoke is my favorite. It's hard for me to put into words just how irresistible that smell is, and I love that my wife knows I love it. The price point, however - $390 for 50 ml here in the US - is absolutely ridiculous. For my sake, I hope no one buys it over here so the price will come down. And Electric Cherry? Don't even. Assuming a bottle of that goes for the same price, then I'm in agreement with you about everything you said about Tom Ford here.

I love Electric Cherry tbh I know it’s simple and basic but I just love it. I understand the hate around the price. I actually called them to figure out why the price is higher than the rest of the fragrances and I got no explanation

Great review. All very valid points. I did buy the small Lost Cherry and eventually Cherry Smoke bottle, after testing of course, and with a discount (I rarely pay full price). They last quite long on my skin, and they make me happy, because I get whiffs throughout the day. But they are certainly not big projectors, and they are too expensive.

@@righteousmasculine I only tried Electric on paper, and I remember I didn't smell much. It is the least interesting out of the three TF cherry scents, I think, but you have to try them on skin of course.

Electric Cherry 🍒 is phenomenal. I’ve bought my gf Lost Cherry, Bitter Peach and some other ones; but I personally love Electric Cherry. Fruity candy with a great projection. Lost Cherry is subdued and subtle. Not this one. Get ready for a lot of complements. You’ll like it. Yes it’s pricey but Baccarat Rouge 540 and this are worth being in your arsenal.

Hi robin, I'm after some advice please. Over the past 4 yrs I went through chemo, radio n immunotherapy then a stem cell transplant. I lost my hair twice. Now I'm finally getting back to normal yet my hair texture still hasn't reverted back to normal. I used to have quite thick hair and a bit wavy. Now it's very thin and wispy. Also it tends to go very oily and greasy a day after a wash. I've bought that aveda thickening tonic. What are the best products to use like creams pomades that are matt finish but wont make my hair greasy etc.? Oh and would a hairspray help afterwards and keep it nicely in place?

Plum Japonais was the last perfume I ever wore. After that I realised that, for me, its nicer to wear nothing and just have whatever scent comes from my shower gel and hair products do their thing. I prefer the smell and to not be overwhelemed, so far I have had no complaints :D But recently I got back into perfumes, just to smell them and find something special and youre right. TF is absolutely not what it used to be, the new fragrances are rough around the edges and harsh. It's hard to find something truly stellar now and its no where near worth the asking price. Also not surprising they dropped you for giving a not 5/5 review. Bigger companies only care about "everything is the best, its all so good, premium and amazing, worth every penny" and get rid of anything else because we arent the target market anymore, its primarily people who just pay for it because of the name, eventhough we are still able to appreciate what is under the name. Anyway, just my ideas! Love the videos Robin, really, wonderful work.

That's what's best! I've always been that way! I messed around and jumped into the hobby and mistakenly spent $5k. Some are overwhelming and I've had to learn to stay less, 1-2 sprays at most. I dont want to ever spend anymore $ on scents unless I KNOW it's intriguing.

I have same products like you....I want to use 4 products: clay,pomade,paste and styling cream.... I am using Shear revival northern lights as paste... But now i need clay,pomade and cream... I couldn’t agree with you more Robin. Tom Ford has so out big time. It’s such a shame because his fragrance line was one of the best. Now his name is being tarnished by Estée Lauder. I hope they get it together but as with everything, money talks.

I appreciate this review. I bought some samples from LuckyScent a month or so ago and was so disappointed. Cherry Smoke was nice, but 1) not worth the price point at ALL and 2) felt like it was trying to be Rouge Smoking, which I already have and prefer. There just wasn't enough depth or excitement there to justify the price. If it were priced with Tobacco Vanille and that level of private blends, maybe I'd pick it up during a Sephora sale? No way I'm paying over $300 for that fragrance. And Electric Cherry was awful. It started out like this awesome cherry hard candy, like a Jolly Rancher or something. However, once the jasmine comes in, it does really wear like something I'd pick up from TJ Maxx. No lasting power, very one dimensional, and the jasmine was not appealing at all. I don't know what they're doing over there either, and it's so disappointing. Tom Ford was the brand that pulled me into the world of fragrance, and I'm so sad that this is where they are. Both these fragrances could be amazing if they had more wow factor and complexity/depth, but this is not it.

Spot on Robin … Tom Ford fragrances have definitely been a big disappointment recently, as you rightly suggest perhaps he isn’t as involved any longer…Btw My favorite was Oud Minerale, but once that ( and the terrific Bronzer) were discontinued I haven’t been impressed with the products.. My guess is his creative genius will now be displayed in the cinema world rather than the retail world …

I'm buying only Amouage than Tom Ford, because Tom Ford perfumes are reformulated, discontinued and woke moves. Oman Perfume doesn't do what Tom does.

Cherry Smoke is amazing, actually. Have yet to find a person with something negative to say about it. Haven't tried Electric Cherry, but I'm sure you're wrong about that one as well.
