He has had to run 40,000 X 25 yards == 1,000,000 yards (a million yards). He has had to play Test matches for 21 yrs and at the age of 41 yrs old he shows no signs of slowing down. But for me and as per test statistics Glenn McGrath is the greatest fast bowler of all time ❤

He is skillfull when conditions suit him, but he has also played many more test matches than other bowlers, and his longevity is unrivalled. If you take his wicket average per test match compared to others, he is pretty average. His returns in the recently concluded series in India were pretty average too. More wickets does not mean he is better than bowlers like Glenn McGrath or Dale Steyn

Great bowler no doubt. However if I bowled my club level medium pace for 47 years in a test side like Anderson... I'd also have a few wickets. Overrated.

He was a great bowler and it's high time he should retire as one... Off late... I am beginning to lose respect for him coz he's only playing for records.... Check out his strike rate and average... U will notice it's well below some of the modern day great bowlers we have known.... Only England somehow keep selecting him at 42 or 43 years while denying younger and more promising talent an opportunity .... I mean, how selfish can an individual get? I am sorry, for me personally he doesn't make the cut as the best ever... Coz he's played 187 tests.... And it's time for him to go as Geoff Boycott has pointed out too... It's best to retire when the world asks the question WHY rather than WHEN? I am sure everyone knows the difference between the 2... Really, I don't see anyone asking Why when he retires.... Infact, everyone is already asking When? If only records mattered he could go on to play until the age of 50 and maybe take 800 wicket after playing 250 tests by then.... I can't think of a more selfish motive than this from any player... Didn't expect it from him... Period!
