Exactly. We told Newcastle fans this when he signed for them. This isn't about him as a player because he had good seasons for us in particular the 18/19 season when he started getting linked with clubs around the top of the table. The problem is him as a character. You would think after everything Eddie had done for him to help him get his career back on track and help him improve as a player, Eddie would have enough credit in the bank to say "Listen I've done a lot for you, time to give a bit back and try and help us stay up" but no, he couldn't even do that. Weak on his part. I know people will say "Well, he didn't want to ruin his chances of getting an injury and moving club" and I'd say okay, assuming it wasn't a career defining injury, if he is as good as he thinks he is, he could help us get promoted if we went down, or help us try and stay in the premier league the next season if we stayed up and he either could have went in January or in the next summer to a bigger club assuming they were still interested in him.

Shame about Fraser but he's really not as good as he thinks he is, has a reputation for throwing his toys out the pram when he doesn't get his way or doesn't play as much as he likes. @@Snotzalotz I'm a Newcastle fan and no I don't like the Saudis - but let's not forget the fans didn't sell the club and if any other clubs' owners were offered a huge amount of money whilst they're looking to sell, they'd take the money, too. The issue is with the incosistency. For example nobody is talking about the potential Qatari ownership of Man Utd the same way, most likely because they're part of the Top Six and Newcastle aren't. The PL also didn't block the NUFC takeover in 2020 due to concerns about human rights - they did so due to piracy allegations - which really shows how much the league cares about human rights. It's hard to defend the NUFC takeover without sounding like a Saudi apologist, but the Premier League and the football media definitely choose where to pick their outrage. Evil, unfashionable Newcastle get all the stick, but Abu Dahbi-backed City and maybe a Qatar-owned Man Utd are OK, apparently.

'Anti-utd bias' hahah, the media always arselick Utd and so do Sky and BT (who desperately want them to win the league every season) and BBC football is the biggest United wankfest ever. ETH was class in handling Ronaldo, what are you on about? He's a class manager but let's not pretend the club are some sort of underdog and he's bringing them up from the depths, they're one of the richest clubs in the world and have assembled one of the most expensive teams in football history.

And it works both ways. When United are bad everyone talks about it, when United are good, everyone talks about it. I think Eddie Howe has done a shitty thing there. To hint at the guy’s professionalism or lack thereof is not the way it’s done these days. The comparisons between arteta TenHag Ronaldo and aubameyang are not fair comparisons. Aubameyang stepped out and the club dealt with him and arteta didn’t publicly knife him. It was internal and stayed thus (till the documentary came out) Ronaldo at ManU was an exemplary professional until he had a child that died. Love or hate the guy he was grieving for dead child and played for them four days after his sons death. He turned up in their hour of need in his darkest. From all accounts Ryan Fraser simply doesn’t fancy it and wants to go. Put him in the reserves. Make no comment. Focus on the group. Now it looks like the manager is petty enough to have a spat with a player. It makes it look as if Eddie Howe can’t deal with one of his boys and now has to take cheap shots in the media. Even TenHag said nothing about Ronaldo. And for it to happen to the same player/manager twice? It just makes Eddie Howe look weak. He did sign him for Bournemouth and did decide to keep him at Newcastle 18 months ago so Eddie Howe has gotten two crucial decisions wrong no matter which way you slice it. Ryan Fraser may very well be a turd (or unprofessional) but stopping to take pot shots doesn’t make Eddie Howe some sort of truth teller in the eyes of some simon Jordan fetish pant wetter. Eddie Howe signed Fraser once so judged poorly. Kept him around for 18 months at a new club so has judged poorly again. OR Eddie Howe has failed manage his troops effectively. Presumably Ryan Frasers poor attitude has been going on for more than 6/7 hours so has Eddie Howe failed to spot the signs and symptoms and failed to take the chance to move him out in January( or the summer or January). Let me give you another analogy. You have a car. The engine management light comes on and you drive around for 18 months and then the engine fails. Where does the fault lay. You for ignoring the issue? The engine for having a fault or the engine for not being looked after correctly? When you decide it’s the engines fault should credit be given to you for announcing on Twitter you won’t use that car again because there’s a problem with it. In fact you not going to put it the garage anymore your going to leave it on the street outside? Why not go the whole nine yards and get out and kick it a few times and scream “that’s it I’m never driving you again and this time I really really really mean it!” Look to the top managers in the game. They don’t hangout their players like that (deserved or undeserved). Ever hear ancelotti do it? Klopp? Guardiola? Arteta? Wenger? It’s done in house behind closed doors and that’s where the position of strength and power is exerted. Not doing it weak interviews. All Eddie Howe has done has announced he’s lost control of an element of his squad and has taken steps to show his in command of the situation as opposed to actually being in command of the situation.
