@uditshivaram6538 Rohit and Iyer are not considered one of the greatest test batsmen of the era. Root was expected to break Sachin's record, but in this series so far, he has shown that he is a below average player. Both Root and Bairstow have disappointed me so far.

@@joeroot5761 Your name is "joe root"', he averaged 50 in 21, 45 in 22 with 5 hundreds, and like 60 in 23 with 70 strike rate, Kohli himself has no idea how to play in india, Smith had a tough time, hes had two bad test matches and you call him below average, Sachin has had millions of series where he cant buy a run, Bairtstow played a good 37, hes a good player, again he was the leading run scorer in the 21 series on absolutely bunsen burners, dont be thickheaded

@uditshivaram6538 Ik he did amazing in the tour of 2018 and 2021 in absolutely ripper pitches, but he is struggling in pitches that are not as bad as they were in 2018 and 2021. You are even Sachin failed in some series, but Sachin made his debut way before Root, so root can't afford so many failures if he wants to break Sachin's record. Comparing Smith to Root would be wrong. I don't like Steve Smith, but he averages around 60, whereas root keeps struggling between 49-51. Root is considered one of the greatest batsmen of spin right now, if not the greatest, and yet he is struggling in India, which is quite annoying to see. Great players are known for achieving success. Sir Alastair Cook knew that, and he did very well with the bat in India and Australia and won a test series in both countries. A great player like Root can be called Great only if he contributes in a winning cause, England could have won the 2nd test match as well only if the senior batters like Root and Bairstow had made 100 runs. The pitch was not that bad for batting in the 2nd innings.
