@@HonestWatchReviewsHWR I got the watch yesterday in orange color, but I was thinking replacing metal straps with vintage black leather straps. You think it look good?
I got the orange version & with coupons etc it was £101! Just a fantastic watch, great specs & finishing. The bracelet is so comfortable I usually wear rubber straps on divers but the bracelet on this perfect👌
Just wish they made one without the pointless date, ruins many a Diver imho. Good value, would be very tempted if only it didn't have that useless complication. Cheers mate 👍🏻
I like the black case and red dial variant with full loom bezel. The only problem with the black one is it does not come with a bracelet. Stainless steel with the red dial on the bracelet looks like a winner for $156.50
Love the Heimdallr Monster. I've had mine a few weeks now and have not had any issues with it yet. It wears very nice, keeps excellent time and it's a beautiful watch.
Seiko are masters at making bigger watches wear smaller. I always thought these watches were huge but fit well. The red dial is popping, ive just got my red dial in and a black dial. Might do a quick showcase. Love the monster looks! Let me know how you get on with it and if you'd consider the Seiko monster after this
That is very true. The tuna and turtle also wear smaller than you'd expect. As for whether I'd consider the Seiko Monster now... I don't really see the point to be honest. This has better specs and costs less. So I'm happy with what I've got. I'm not really one for brand names. I always choose specs over that.
heimdallr masters every seiko. unless you want mineral glass and a stamped clasp. heimdallr even has better lume & price the heimdallr monster ALSO comes with a spring bar tool, link removal tool AND a 20mm nato strap!!!!!
I just bought this same watch from Aliexpress. The shipping from China to New Zealand was faster than Australia to NZ, 10 days. I had a version 1 Seiko Monster and this watch is as good as if not better because of all the points you make. Everything on mine lines up perfectly, I can't fault it.
That's really an impressive offering by Heimdallr in terms of being a faithful homage to a Seiko monster. It even surpasses the original in some respects like the sapphire crystal and the milled clasp. Seiko watches themselves aren't well known for perfect alignment. And when the time can be set by the crown with too little resistance you can't really blame Heimdallr. If any, it's a Seiko movement issue. Cheers mate!
I own this watch, I have to say it’s awesome, on par if not better than my seiko turtle and samurai, it’s also giving my planet ocean, Tudor BB and Speedmaster a run for its money for wrist time! I just love the red dial 👍🏻
I got mine from a different shop on AliExpress and paid only 118 euros after some promotion, it was 128 euros originally anyway... I have to say, it is perfect in every way, I really like this watch!
Yup I've got both the red and orange in my cart deciding ... ... but time to decide because it will have to wait looking at the Addies Tuna, the Parnis Nautilus and the Phylida hydroconquest first - going to get two of those during the March Aliexpress sale. Just picked up the Steeldive Bronze 50 fathoms homage yesterday as well as a tropic steap for it and a bronze buckle.
@@karlsenula9495 Ooooh, now you are talking my language!☺️ Those are some quality choices, most I've been eyeing up myself. Please let me know how you get on with them as I'll no doubt get one in for review at some point (and my birthday is also in March so...)😂
I really like the monster the only reason I've not got one is I thought it'd look silly on my seven inch wrists but now after watching this I'm definitely getting one ,,thanks for your honest review 💯🇬🇧👍
I thought it might on my 7" wrist before o got it too. But it wears surprisingly well doesn't it? Please consider using my affiliate link if you do end up getting one. Which colour are you thinking of getting?
@@HonestWatchReviewsHWR sure did. 6 days ago but no contact from after sales dept. hopefully they can help eventually. I’d like a replacement that works
I have the exact same watch and yes there was deffo something up with the push pins, done a few Seikos with push pins and they were nowhere near as difficult as these ones, they just did not want to budge.
@@Paul.in.Ireland After the struggle to get my pins out when it came to refitting them they now went back in all loose so I deliberately forced a small bend in them just to ensure they remained in place and tapped them back into place with a plastic headed mallet.
Is the lume pip sticking out like a nipple or flush with the bezel? I got the Sea Knight orange, which I believe is the same watch as this Heimdallr v1. the V2 Heimdallr without the shark tooth hour markers has a flush, flat lume pip
@@Followthepath89 Just check out my playlist for AliExpress watches, that's plenty in there. I also have my top recommendations linked in the video description on all my videos too.
@@davidbridge5652 I don't think you'll be disappointed. If you do end up getting one, please consider using my affiliate link, to help support the channel. It doesn't cost you anymore.
Excellent review. My red Monster was shipped on Saturday. Can't wait to see it. A question. I was reading that the strap had pin and collar rather than standard push pins. Is that right?
Today the lumed pip on my Heimdallr got knocked off the bezel and I totally lost it. Any idea if there is a replacement bezel for sale somewhere? I mean it's not the end of the world, but it really bums me out that I lost the pip.
@@HonestWatchReviewsHWR well the pip was sticking out like a sore thumb, so it was just a matter of time when it got caught on something. Because it didn't come off on its own, I literally banged the whole watch against my bike and later I noticed the bezel was misaligned and the pip was missing.
@@HonestWatchReviewsHWR I got it direct from them about two years ago...not that cheap either...I think it was £160. The sapphire is nice, the lume is terribly applied and weak, the case and case shroud are nice but the hex head screws on the shroud are all counter sunk to different levels, the bezel won't turn without wearing rubber gloves...the bracelet is poor..but has an ok milled clasp. All in all not great for £160. I have the bronze Willard steeldive which was cheaper and beats the Heimdallr in every way and both my escapement times are flawless for less than half the price! Maybe they've improved since I got mine.
@@garethbain7477 I think it's sometimes just luck of the draw. Like I say, I've never had any issues with Heimdallrs, bought from their website or various AliExpress stores. But with Steeldives I've had a mixed bag. Escapement Time though... They offer fantastic value and QC for the money. I own quite a few of there watches, as you'll probably know if you've followed my channel for a while.
