STORY: THE SILENT ROOM 👽👻
It was the kind of house that everyone in town whispered about, a large, crumbling mansion at the edge of the forest. No one had lived there in years, not since the tragic disappearance of the family that once called it home. Still, rumors spread that if you entered the house at night, you could hear the faint whispers of their voices, calling out from somewhere deep within the walls.
Sophie and her friends thought it would be fun to spend a night there, as a dare. They didn’t believe in ghosts, after all. Armed with nothing but their phones and some flashlights, they crept through the overgrown garden and pried open the rusty door.
Inside, the house was eerily still. Dust coated everything, and the air was thick with the smell of decay. The silence was unnerving, broken only by the occasional creak of the old wooden floors beneath their feet. They explored room after room, laughing nervously at the creepy paintings and old furniture, but they found nothing unusual.
Then they reached *the room*.
It was small, tucked away at the end of a long hallway. The moment Sophie stepped inside, she felt it-the shift in the air, the cold that seeped into her bones. Her friends stopped laughing. Something about the room was wrong, but none of them could explain it.
Suddenly, the door slammed shut behind them.
They rushed to open it, but it wouldn’t budge. The room seemed to grow smaller, the air thick with tension. Then, they heard it: a faint whisper, like a voice carried by the wind. It was impossible to tell where it was coming from, but it grew louder with each passing second.
The whispers became words. "Help us," they begged, "please…"
Sophie’s friends started panicking, banging on the door, yelling for help, but their voices were swallowed by the room. Sophie stood frozen, her eyes drawn to the far corner, where the shadows seemed to move, twisting and stretching into a shape.
It was a figure-a pale, gaunt figure with hollow eyes, staring right at her.
"Leave," it rasped, its voice dry like paper. "Leave… before it’s too late."
The lights flickered, and the room was plunged into darkness. Sophie felt a cold hand grip her wrist. She screamed, and suddenly the door burst open.
Her friends pulled her out of the room, slamming the door behind them. They ran, not stopping until they were outside, gasping for air.
When they looked back, the house was silent once more, the windows dark and lifeless. But Sophie knew they weren’t alone in there. Something had been watching them, waiting.
She never spoke of it again, but every night, she could still hear the whispers.
And she knew the house wasn't finished with her yet.
