Fading Steps
- Set in guideline with trimmer
- Lever open set in next guideline
- 1 guard lever open next guideline
- 1.5, 2,3,4 guard blend up
- Clipper over comb if needed
- Blend second guideline w/ .5 guard open to 3 qtr
- Continue blending second guideline w/ 1 guard 3qtr
- Blend first guideline w zero, lever closed
- Open lever half way, continue blending
- Continue blending with lever open
- Do any touch up work
- Use trimmers to take out bottom hair
- Use electric shaver
- Do any line up with trimmers
- Shave with straight razor

Love the video. I think it would be helpful when you are fading in the guidelines you can remind us what guard you used previously to create it. Or what section of the hair was cut with what guard cause when you are going back to blend guidelines I completely forget and then get confused trying to think back.

Can someone skilled tell me if its better to do it this way or only with 2 guards? I mean its obviously way more faster but is the fade better? Or is the fade also for a skilled barber not as good as with more guards?

You should do more videos like this for beginners to watch because I have that trouble also. I can't pinpoint some of the lines, so it's hard for me to see which one is which in order to blend .

I have a question. No doubt your fades come out crispy but if you’re using a half guard 3/4 open to blend out the half to 1 open. Shouldn’t you use a 1 1/2 “3/4” open to blend out the the 1 open to the 2 or 1 1/2 open ? I don’t get using a shorter guard setting “ a 1 3/4 open” to blend the top of a 1 open.

bro can you do a self tutorial of how to use comb and clippers to trim the sides and back of the head for longer hair. The 4guard is too short for me so I gotta use comb and clippers to finish trimming the sides up top. I do a zero mid fade but my hair is long on top, it's a pain in the ass using comb and clippers to trim the sides.

Now im not no mathematician but closing the lever 1 click is 1/4 not 3/4 or am I trippen. Because open = 0 and close = 1. If you close it one click it's 1/4 closed. I love your videos but everytime you say 3/4 I always have that same exact thought in my head 😂😂

Lol, well it technically can go both ways depending on where you start if that makes sense. If I start at lever closed=0 then I would say open it 3/4 open. But if I start from lever open I would say close it a qtr ways to be at that same spot
