I live in Georgia near Dahlonega. If you are eve in north east Georgia you should check out Woodys Barber shop. They have been open for over 94 years. They still do the Straight razor shaves and Hair cuts. Love your videos. You can google them they have been in a couple of papers. Thanks for your videos.
Out of all your shaving and haircut videos this is my favorite. I love how he asked you to inform him if you had to sneeze or cough. I don't recall any other barber in Harry's videos asking that. Good job Brian
Brian really cares about his work and is great at it, he also seems like a really nice dude! Shame I live all the way in Canada or else I’d be at his doors for a much needed haircut 😅
I love all the different rituals that barbers go through before shaves and cuts. It really is so interesting to watch. Great video Harry! Love from Ireland 🇮🇪
@Frank L no. I had gotten a haircut about a week before this was posted so hopefully in 2 to 3 weeks I can. However Oregon just has a mandatory 2 week lock down due to covid.
Kris and Brian are both class acts. I'm a five minute walk from them and it's always a pleasure to be in their shop. Great COVID precautions as well, very safe, and always leave looking my best.
@@Gay-Arrow thanks for the response I live about 1.5 hours away from Salem but drive through it when I go see the Oregon coast. I've been wanting to try the "word of mouth" restaurant in Salem, so maybe for my bday I'll go there then get a haircut at the place you recommended. Stay safe.
Yet another excellent video from Harry, everyone is slightly different, everyone as their own style, yet wether it's an haircut or shave, they all do a wonderful job, you really know how to find great barbers Harry, never stop doing what you do
It’s amazing to see how certain barbers run circles around other barbers when it comes to giving a haircut and a hot shave, I respect how patient you are with all barbers, as a Barber myself I am constantly picking up better tips from some of the Great places you’ve visited in these videos and also what not to do in the not so Great locations, all in all, awesome Channel !! 👏
Loved it, one of the most professional barbers you have visited, very polite with some quick wit. The only barber ever to ask, please let me know if you are going to cough or sneeze, also Harry a lot of hair on that face 😂
I’m under 4 minutes in and wishing I was in that chair!! Holy crap! Plus the barber is super polite, asks repeatedly if he is ok in the chair, with towel temp, etc etc... ONE DAY I WILL GET THIS DONE!!
Until 12:00 in and he was applying powder to a nick (blood to skin contact) WITHOUT GLOVES, and then without washing his hands afterwards..... Not exactly a deal breaker, but also not sanitary. Dealing with the hot towels, towels with hair and shaving cream/butter on them... I would have gone ahead and washed with antibacterial soap before and afterwards. Gotta remember, someone from health department may be watching these videos as well.
No one gonna mention Lyle shaving left handed? Dudes a beast. This guy is skilled. The previous video of the haircut was great. He made every stroke of the clipper count. A+
Thank you Harry If it wasn’t for your videos, utube would become a little boring in these testing times, and I must say lyles barbers is fast growing into one of most favourite videos you have done, great work
Gotta love his attention to detail, especially going against the grain and between the hot towels! As an OC straight shaver, I too make sure to get every hair:)
After the haircut video, I was waiting for this one!! Nice work, Harry! Brian seems like such a nice guy. Next time I'm in Portland visiting family, I'm definitely going in for a hot shave.
How did you feel during the first pass? The blade looks to be pretty good sliding but for my personal taste it looks like it was too little shaving cream applied.
@@niallash2315 You don't need to see what's there before you shave it though. You can get a feel for the grain of the beard when you're massaging pre-shave product in or just by examining it first, then it's only after the first pass that you need to see what's there to know if it's clean or not, at which point the shaving cream is gone
As long as it's covering the hairs it doesn't really matter. Theres no point in adding a thick layer of cream when it's not even touching the hairs on the face.
I am Impressed really good job! Bending down like that will hurt you back for sure, backhand strokes will stop the crouching and bending over, that being said what a beautiful shave!
Another brilliant video Harry as always. Such is the quality of the videos you put up these days it is a tug-of-war with me as to which content is better the haircut videos or the shave videos. One of these days you'll have to put up, excuse the pun, a 'Supercut' where you get both done in the same video.
Are cuts common in getting a shave from a professional barber? Because no ones talking about it and it stood out massively to me. However, he seems very kind and welcoming so I still like him.
When I was a kid back in the Sixties, I remember barbers having a leather strap that hung on the side of the chair they'd use to sharpen their straight razors.
