there are 5, yaranzo, tri-horned dragon, the bewitching (all 3 of these were received), unicycular (it's originally his) and flamvell guard is from a student

some of the normal monsters as well as gamble was from the duel he had while in prison

I enjoyed the playmaker in the first season, but my enthusiasm waned as the rest of the anime unfolded

@@superbattle4 i personally dislike how unlike other protags, all his power-ups aren't temporary and hardly necessitate any sort of genuine bond it kinda felt like other characters were projecting onto him after a while

*i personally don't think he's the best either, but in-universe, on paper he's pretty op* *if it weren't for his remarks towards "brave max" at school, i'd reckon believe in his cards were nigh nonexistent considering he has both a mock deck and a pre-cyberse deck he doesn't implement in his strategy, but... never mind his lack of reaction when any of his (ace) monsters are destroyed* he nearly has the cyberse type monopolized from weak monsters to really strong ones (no clue what he would've link summoned ep. 1) which were made rare thanks to the knights of hanoi he has storm access & neo storm access granting him access to a plethora of one-of-a-kind high power extra deck monsters with very few summoning conditions to fulfill, which basically makes it so that once he attains something it's there forever as he even goes as far as to print them himself (which may be why in cross duel he shows concern when revolver exposes they can't use it there) he appears to have believe in his cards and a duelist's soul/pride essentially making him a true duelist (in sevens this would attract new monsters to him) to the point a.i. are farming him for experience/understanding he is presented as very strategic and resolute meaning his willpower is pretty strong (basically letting him guide the cards or destiny draw and play them wisely) the cyberse are heavily implied to be bypoducts of the ignis's existence (granted they're in sevens too) which likely makes them stronger than regular monsters link summoning is technically easier than xyz summoning but xyz summoning (at least in arc-v and early zexal) is treated as this big thing (kinda like trudge not expecting yusei to know how to synchro) his old deck had some decently rare/powerful cards as is in previous series like Limiter Removal and has been fueled by revenge/hate for several years which would only strengthen his resolve in spite of what Yugi & Atem may say as it never backfires for him scaling off of Soulburner he's inherently leagues beyond the braggart that apparently became a national champion in the real world while many duelists (strong duelists) flock to link vrains and up its user base... the same one where Go is/was the number 1 ranked duelist there and is massively powercrept hard by Playmaker & Revolver to the point he needs cybernetic enhancements to even dare close the gap, functionally making Playmaker the closest thing to a world champion we get to see in vrains there isn't forgetting that he also gets stronger after every duel by default comparatively to some of the protags before him that would predominantly get stronger during the duel or acknowledge/confirm training or preparations for their next big duel... over the course of months and years for their respective stories, with the timeline of events in vrains being a lot closer to arc-v than even zexal -- all-in-all, a lot of the other characters have less rare, harder to summon, deliberate counter-strategies in comparison this isn't to say playmaker is only strong because he is "blessed" by the writers but it's more of a "statistic" he'd be hard-pressed to lose to anyone without the more abstract nature of the series fudging the results, more so when crossing over with other series than his own as the amount of external factors affecting his performance (like shadow magic or real damage) and literal gods or extradimensional monsters could still be countered by the fact it's canon a duelist's soul can surpass them

oof. i forgot to add that link monsters canonically have their full power unlocked in a master duel, which makes sense of paper but it's just a thing revolver points out, so that's another thing he has... unlike yusei who literally has to be on a motorcycle and tap into a special state of mind/speed itself to accel synchro in the first place, which would make yusei a threat in arc-v but less of one in zexal -- personally, i do feel like yusei would win if they were to be put into a story together, but comparing them side-by-side as they are now... i can see exactly why people lean on playmaker when yusei can be pressed by people using nothing but commons and zushin (albeit that's if they ignore their opponents super strong souls)

​@@MegaMachiOnline you wrote a lot huh 😮 you talked about canonicity, and I remembered that if this fight really happened (playmaker vs yusei) it would be in master rule 4, it would be a huge disadvantage.. I also think that playmaker is somewhat blessed by the script, he hacked the biggest company in the world, my god... what an exaggeration lol. you're right, in other yugiohs, the fight was against gods and monsters, Vrains is something more... technology :V but when you stop and think, a simple vrains person uses the Zoodiac deck... in lore, zoodiacs are very strong, and playmaker in the past used cards from the galaxy-eyes archetype (at least one), maybe the power level is too high, that these powerful cards are seen as weak... it's a crazy theory 😅😅-But honestly, it's all fanservice lol-
