Cairns are special dogs. I had a Cairn called Dougie, and he had such character. You knew what he was thinking just by looking at him. He was cheeky, a bit naughty at times, but so loyal and loving to his family and my other dog. He was very intelligent and tenacious, and he believed he was a big dog in a small body. We had to put Dougie down a month ago at the age of 8, because he had bone cancer that had spread. It absolutely broke me. Everything reminds me of him. The house feels so empty without him. But I have so many fond memories with Doug, as I'm sure you do with Maddie. It's the sadness we all have to go through when we invite these amazing animals into our homes.

My heart goes out to you and your family, Baylee. I lost my first dog in 2005 due to kidney failure. Although we later found out after picking up her ashes, that she was born with only one. She passed away on this SpongeBob blanket I have. I still haven't washed it or used it since. It's sitting in a tied grocery bag in my closet covered in her fur. Rest in peace, Maddie 💙🐕💙
my dog is a puggle mix (pug and beagle) named Damon. his average life expectancy is around 12 years for his breed. around the time when he was seven, we started discussing that he would have to go sooner or later, and we had to come to terms with it. a few months after this though, he began throwing up and becoming less active. turns out he had diabetes, AND pancreatitis. the diabetes itself was difficult for my family to come to terms with, but then we discussed other things too. be had been falling a lot lately, and he was really tired. but the good side to this story, is that he is now 10 years old and happy as ever. I am the youngest in my family, and this is what I believe: when a dog dies, they don't just leave. they sleep in our hearts. when you're sad about your dog, it means your heart is hurting. your heart hurts, because your dog is so happy you remember them, they wake up, and wag their tails so much, it hurts you. but after they are super happy, they get tired, so they go to sleep. the longer they stay in your heart, the more tired they get, so they sleep more and more, until they only wake up once in awhile. but they're always with you. Knowing you're taking this so well, can help me cope with knowing my dog's time could be any day now. please Baylee, remember that even though she's not physically with you, she'll always be in your heart, wagging her tail away happily, knowing you remember her. You're my inspiration. Don't let this bring you down. They both seemed to have lived a joyful life. I'm sorry for your loss but I'm sure they are happily resting seeing as you and your family gave them the best life u guys could offer.

I cried watching this tribute to her because I've been watching your videos for so long, and I've seen how special she was to you and your family. One good thing I take away from this video is that Maddie had the kind of life a family member deserves. She had so much love, safety, adventure, friendship, and fun. You guys were her pack, and she was so happy. You exemplify what it means to really love and take care of a pet. Maddie was so lucky to have you guys. We have a cairn terrier and she is 14 very healthy and happy. I'm constantly checking her because I read they don't live past 14. She is active and healthy just like your beautiful dogs.

Cairn Terrier... bred to dig out Rats, firstly from cairn's of stones on the Western Isles of Scotland, those stone cairn's were marking peoples property boundaries, but then became homes for those Rats ..Terrier is 'Old' French meaning Terra the Earth / To Dig... thus whether it's a sand pit in the back yard or at the Beach, and they are totally at home with both..

#ripmaddie Cairn terriers are the best, I had one growing up. She was a blonde one and the sweetest thing. We lost her after moving to Alabama. She went into the woods when no one was looking and didn't come back. I still miss her. But I'm glad maddie isn't in pain any longer and you had a full and wonderful life with her. She looked so sweet! I'm sorry for your loss.

A delightful and heartfelt tribute to Maddie. An adorable little girl, she shared so much of your family life during her lifetime. My MacDuff, a male Cairn terrier, is only one year old. I really hope to enjoy him for as long as we both live. It is sad to lose a BDF/BestDogForever. But, I think it is sadder to think what happens after the owner passes. We cannot always control from beyond the grave, but it is worth trying to secure a surviving pet a good life. God bless all our beloved companion animals. Cannot fault their 100% devotion.
I know this is a sad occasion, but it made me happy seeing Maddie having such a full life, and how loved they were. I've only had my own Patterdale terrier Dinny-Paw two years but he's already such a massive part of my family's life - and we were cat people! I hope you'll be okay, I've lost a few pets over the years and the hurt never really goes away when I think of them. Take care of yourself!

Aww :( We have a 10 month old ShiPoo and I can't fathom what it would be like to lose him, as annoying and frustrating he can be sometimes! Maddie's in a better place now, without all the pain and suffering
Little Maddie seemed to have lived a long happy life, filled with joy ans fond memories. Im currently bawling my eyes out, this video was so bittersweet. It's always so sad when an animal dies, but I like how you had happy music in the backround to more so celebrate her life, and try to make the best of the situation. Thinking about my little doggo dieing sends shivers down my spine, and I couldn't even imagine it. Im glad that Maddie is in a better place now!
We've had a few scares with all of our dogs and thankfully they've all pulled through and I can't imagine how terrible it must feel for you and your family I'm sorry for your loss. Even though I never met Maddie I can tell how much she was loved by you and your family and you gave her the best life she could ever have full of love and joy.

What a wonderful video highlighting the amazing years we shared with our little Maddie! I thought the video would make me cry more but I found myself smiling as I recalled each memory. She was a fearless, funny and crazy yet sweet companion and I miss her so much. I just lost my chameleon a couple of days ago and it was extremely hard for me because I cared about him so much. I didn't have him for long but it felt as if I had had him for years... I will always remember him forever and he will always be in my heart ❤️ RIP Titan the veiled chameleon ❤️
