I think a switch 2 or something is coming out soon (if I'm wrong sorry lol idk) and then maybe prices of the original switch will come down. but you can still emulate games for free if you know where to look online and you can try older consoles which are much less expensive.

@@beannieplays9975 I personally prefer the oled over the original switch because the screen is a game changer! I play games in hand-held mode more often than docking it to a TV/monitor, so it was a good upgrade for me. I also think that the oled switch is a bit more durable since some parts were replaced with metal (compared to plastic in the original) so if durability over a long period of time is important for you, the oled might be a good one to consider! 🎮 Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference. What helped me make my decision was going in store (ex: target/bestbuy) and testing out both the oled and original to see differences. I hoped this helped and hope you can get a switch soon! ☺️

The bricking issue is because the switch (Nintendo) doesn’t use standardized usb-c power output, which is why you shouldn’t use 3rd party docks that aren’t approved by Nintendo, the Nintendo branded usb-c cords have a fuse in them to reduce the amount of electricity they receive, same with the power brick for the switch itself.

A resistor but effectively true. Part of the problem Nintendo does not use the standard USB C power management. Bad power management can fry the power management chip.
