💥 Church Fails 

Back in the 80s we were still in a storefront building. One of our guys had those big combs in his back pocket with the handle sticking out. The handle caught on the back of the metal folding chair. When he stood up, the chair came with him! Then he spent the next several seconds twirling around, like a dog chasing his tail, attempting to dislodge himself from the swirling chair during worship service. There I was at the front on the organ trying not to fall off the bench laughing. That service never did quite recover.

The same thing happened with our lights! Also at an alter call, I think 😅😂

Our second building was a 2 story neighborhood church. To get upstairs to the sanctuary there were stairs, a landing, then a second set of stairs. After the evening service had ended I slipped on the first top step and "skied" on my shins down to the landing. My pastor came running down to help me up and asked, "Besides your pride, what else hurts?" I could not help but burst out laughing and reply, "Thanks, your compassion is overwhelming".

This story beats all other church fails. Get ready... an older brother in the church was taking up prayer requests. It was downpouring outside. Mid prayer requests, he looks at the pastor and says, “The only thing this kind of weather is good for... is making love.” The service never came back after that 😂

Church fail We were a small country church in Pennsylvania, and one night my brother, who was a toddler, had an upset stomach, so my mom put Sprite into his sippy cup and off to church we went. Remember those testimony services where saints would stand and tell of the goodness of God? Well, right in the middle of this sweet sister’s testimony, my brother let loose one of the longest and loudest burps I’ve ever heard from any human being before or since! The only person that did not hear the loudly expelled belch was the sister giving her testimony. The entire congregation began to chuckle and snicker. She looked very confused and wondered what she had said wrong and kept speaking which made it worse. The poor worship leader ended up having to put his head down into the pulpit he was laughing so hard. Needless to say that was the last time my mom gave my brother carbonated beverages before service.

I wonder if pastor was listening to this episode while catching a nice rainbow Trout😂....so.....most recent blooper for us was in pre service prayer, and pastor uses the Bluetooth on his phone for the prayer music, so the lights are shut off as we get ready to start prayer, and Mozart abruptly and loudly begins to play, ill never forget the look of the faces when it was playing (was a good sympathy piece though in his defense)😅 but nevertheless we recovered quickly and went on

Awkward preaching fail: I was preaching on the two arks. One is made of gopher wood, the other made of shittim wood. I meant to say gopher wood and stopped myself HALF WAY into…..yes. MORTIFIED!! EMBARRASSED!!
