Hi Lillian! I bought and read "M is for Monster" last October after you mentioned it in one of your videos and I'm happy to say I've included it in my library's graphic novel collection as a result. I like how unique it is in that it gives the reader the experience of being a queer teen without overtly mentioning queerness, as you say. In doing so, it reminded me somewhat of one of my favorite picture books, Shaun Tan's "The Arrival," which wordlessly gives the reader the experience of what it's like to be an immigrant. "Parallel" looks outstanding - you've mentioned it previously and I've meant to pick that one up as well. Ooooo, so we're headed back to Venice next week...looking forward to it! 😀

Oh, that's so awesome to hear Tammy!! I'm glad that you also enjoyed it, I hope you love Parallel if you end up picking it up :) The Arrival is also one of my favorite graphic novels - would love to see an animation group produce it as a short film :D Back to Venice, I'm hoping to finish the edits after work tonight *fingers crossed*

It's a really wonderful graphic novel! I have a soft spot for graphic novels, so I wanted to make sure I gave them their due :) Glad that you enjoyed!!
