Phoenix native here! That is very interesting at 7:20. When I went to ASU back in '93, '94, the maximum occupants were about 4 since I rented with three other guys. I wonder how recent that change was.

Hi! It's an old rule! It came to be in the late 1970's and when I went to ASU (200-2005) it was strictly enforced, but people were fighting it all the time. My good guy friends were kicked out of their rental home after an enforcement agent turned them in and the landlord was fined. So silly. It never was changed though. City residents don't want Tempe to turn into more of a party school, so they feel limiting large groups of young adults from living together helps that. That is why ASU only has dorms for greek life. Replicates apartment living. They had frat houses back in my day, but those were bulldozed shortly after I graduated. Not sure how those were ever allowed with the rule in place. Private stipulations perhaps. Thanks for watching! :)

@@LivingInPhoenixArizona2024 oh wow! So the rule must have been there to begin with, just not really enforced when I went. Now ASU only has dorms for Greek life? Wow! It just amazing me to how somethings change since I lived there.

@@user-yd5ks7sd8x Yes! They tore down the frat houses in the early 2000's and they moved off campus and rented homes, but I'm sure they had tons of trouble follow them. LOL Sororities never had houses, only old dorms, now they have custom built dorms that were built in the early 2000's. Greek Life isn't as popular at ASU as it is at UofA. In 2002 ASU was voted top party school in the nation, but then crow took over and tried to tone it down. He did succeed, but college kids still partied/party. I think ASU still ranks as a top party school even with all the restrictions. Crow has changed what ASU is known for, and he was a HUGE part of making downtown phoenix a nicer place by pushing the campus development down there. Mill ave and Tempe have changed DRAMATICALLY the last 20-25 years. You should watch my Tempe video! I drive downtown Tempe and its wild. :) Here is the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-L6RS1PTmWDg.htmlsi=55fG41GMsXJeiS-E

@@LivingInPhoenixArizona2024 wow! Cool video, thank you. I sort of miss ASU, but I do miss Phoenix in general. The Navy took me out in '97 and ended up retiring from the service.

Do you have tips for rentals? We left a year and a half ago and are homesick!!
@LivingInPhoenixArizona2024

@@daveeggeman2001 Hello! Thanks for reaching out! Rental prices (out here) peaked in August of 2022, then came down until about March of 2023 (for single family homes). They rose a bit then were stable for the summer and are now dropping. Some of this is seasonal and some due to lower demand from higher prices. Phoenix has a VERY large amount of luxury apartments coming online soon, too. This will bring apartment rental prices down (more than they already were dropping) as only so many people are willing to pay a premium price to live in an apartment. Apartment rents have been dropping since the peak in 2022 so my tip would be find a newer, luxury community & you can prob negotiate in at least a free month! OR look on zillow rentals and any home that has been sitting for more than 3o days is overpriced. Those homeowners are prob a bit scared right now and you can for sure negotiate in a lower rent. HECK, I was negotiating lower rent for my rental clients in Phoenix over the summer! LOL But I knew what was coming. If you'd like more info send me an email: AndreaSellsPhx@Gmail.Com and I can definitely help you out. Thanks for watching! I appreciate it! :)
