Great video. It would be nice if the tool could allow you to read/write data from a physically damaged camera/dot projector module onto a new module. This is great if the dot projector is faulty, not so great if the entire module needs replacing. Mine arrived today so just need to get a phone to work on hahaha
I already had a JCID V1SE programmer, so I sold that for more than I bought it for, and bought one of these with truetone boards for almost half the price of the V1SE. 👍

Thank you for the very in dept information about this vaguely discussed topic. But I have some doubts. How likely is it, that the dot projector/ infrared camera still works and I can read the data on the Romeo (?) chip after a Face ID failure? What causes an iPhone to be in such a condition as in your example? In my case, I have a water damaged iPhone 12 and I’m not sure how to find out if this method (which isn’t quite inexpensive either) will work or not. Therefore I’m very unsure about buying a device such as the AY A108 or the I2C I6S.
Also, in my opinion you could do another video talking further about the Face ID technical aspects (referring to 19:00). Id be very interested if there is any possibility to repair the ir camera as well. I have watched your video about the flood illuminator already but maybe you could summarise what’s possible to repair at this point and what is not. Id also be interested about apples repair method, what will they do when I send my device in.. thanks in advance !
1) plug in flex, plug 108 into computer 2) hit test: everything says abnormal except NTC & I2C, they say normal 3) then I hit back up, that’s successful 4) plug a108 into power 5) then I hit activate, the process starts then I get a message that says: “Abnormal, please remove extension flex cable, or use chip to repair” How do I resolve this issue? Is there a support forum ?
Which one you would recommend? Like which brand is more reliable in terms of shipping tag on flexes and overall performance? Please if you could answer as I am struggling to find a good brand to work with for this kind of product.
i have an iphone xr and i buy a new logic bord/motherboard and when i install it everything it was alright but the face id doesnt work and the originaly battery says is not genuin if i do the same procedure like you will it work bcs the face id it was with the old motheboard and i put new motherboard with the old face id

Wait so could this work if I accidentally got water damage to the dot projector? Long story short my iphone 11 pro max facing down with a protector was facedown on my nightstand and the condensation from the water bottle with ice dripped water and got into the speaker mesh into the dot project i suspect because the front camera has very small droplets around it. trying to find phone shops to fix this in saskatoon canada but no go...
does this work for icloud lock phone when we change the chipset on the motherboard and after the id doesnt work can this method fix this probleme ? tanks
When prompted to “Activate” and “Burn” why did it say you had a number of attempts left? Will the manufacturer be charging use per Activation and Burn burning services?
How can we tell if this is the issue with Face ID? On my iPhone 12, Face ID is disabled (as shown in the video) and when trying to take a Portrait Mode selfie, it keeps saying "Move farther away." Is this likely an issue with that part? Is it likely repairable through this method?
@@Julien-my1lk as far as I can remember in that particular case the fault with the face ID couldn't be fixed with this method , if you look at the front facing camera on the iPhone in question with an android camera do you see two or one red dots ? you can't use an iphone camera as it has an inafred filter

I received this tool the other day and I've got an issue with the software connecting to my phone. A message pops up saying to unlock then trust but the phone does not appear to be connecting to the software. I'm stuck with a useless tool... Any help?
Just so everyone in the same situation knows, you have to have iTunes installed and working for the software to connect to the iPhone, otherwise it won't work... Dumbest issue ever, but well...
