I am Bolivian, I do not have extensive knowledge about the culture of British royalty; but I was brought up to respect the customs and traditions of the place I visited or live (currently Sweden). It is a disgrace that a person, a woman who claims to be "a model of bravery demanding respect for her 'origin'" does not show the same respect for the family she has chosen to belong to, regardless of whether they are royalty or not. Every family is a culture and whether or not this person is a compulsive mythomaniac, they are also spoiled and ungrateful. Respect is chosen to the same extent that it is lavished. Very actress or not, very mixed race or not, it doesn't matter! I am a Latina living in Scandinavia. I have learned the customs, I respect and value them and I give them respect. My rights end where my responsibilities begin.

As an American, you would not be expected to curtsy. You have a President & you are not a ‘subject’ of a king/queen. MM was however joining the Royal family & therefore expected to curtsy to the Monarch. I live in Sussex (England) & the sooner the government removes their Dukedom Sussex titles, the better as they embarrass a lovely part of England. @@debra7699 I read that if the Duke and Duchess titles are removed (which would be done via an act of Parliament), then H would retain and revert to the Princely title, thereby allowing his wife the right to be titled 'Princess.' The 'Prince' title could be revoked only under circumstances of treason. Alternatively, the title could be put into abeyance. It's all very complex.

This was merely talking about it in a lighthearted manner, because she found it really daunting. Obviously the Queen did not take offence to it at the time as she very quickly invited Meghan to accompany her to an official event. On the Royal train as well. By comparison, Kate had to wait 10 months before she was invited by the Queen! Speaks volumes really! I think it was a School District project, and it was coordinated with a children's TV show, which it's alleged Meghan appeared on. She and a few other students were chosen for the show. Meghan got depressed because she didn't get a response from P&G, so her father--to the rescue--wrote that "thank you" letter from the soap company and sent it to Meghan. Not sure but allegedly again that's why she was one of the students picked to go on the air at the TV show. Just got this: Markle appeared on Nick News, an educational program for children that aired on the popular cable network Nickelodeon. This say a lot about her character today--because she eventually found out that her father sent her that letter and she keeps on telling that lie that P&G sent it. (That's one huge mistake in parenting!)

The ivory soap commercial. I was born in the 60s and grew up in the 70s and 80s. Commercials were being changed during that time and sexist language removed. She wrote that letter during the 90s. For her to think that her letter single-handedly changed that commercial is absolutely laughable.

Please everyone LISTEN UP the whole story of Meghan changing the dish soap commercial is getting on my last nerve. In our local school and so I am sure many schools around the nation, English and Creative Writing teachers gave their students this very writing assignment. Here in Georgia students were given an assignment of writing a formal letter to a company (or someone in local government etc). The letters could be one of praise or condemnation. One of the choices a few teachers here gave out was writing a protest letter against ☆ this very dish soap commercial. I can't remember but I believe it was a Procter and Gamble company. Our teachers got the idea from different writing teacher newsletters that were popular with teachers at that time. The initial suggestion was found in either Mother Jones Magazine or Ms. or Cosmopolitan. Our teacher here brought the article in for the students to see. It was asking women to write in to the company to protest the sexist language of the commercial. It even came with a sample letter that you could copy. The internet was in its infancy. This was pre Google/Yahoo so protests were still organized in this manner. So it is probably true that she wrote that letter but so did thousands of students across America. This twisting of the truth is classic Meghan Markel. She personally wasnt responsible for this change. Everytime I hear this story I want to set my hair on fire and then put the fire out with a baseball bat. I wish some journalists would just investigate this story and it be be easy to find the truth.

Making fun of and using hyperbole to show her ignorance of a situation and how stupid she looked. It was completely self deprecating. I don't see how anyone can't see that. And yes,I'm mixed race with white, black and native. It can be difficult to find the right box. I'm too light for this, too native looking for that, not black enough for this or that. They just couldn't have her on the front page because she was liked, so it was easy to make up things from up leaked sources from every palace. Remember Charles was jealous of the attention Diana received. It really bothered him she talked about it way before the infamous interview. It was a distraction from rose, from Andrew and his financed payoff.

@@Elizabethselby she curtsied in the cable show, she was in. You can look up clips of it online. I am trained as an actress and so is she, she knows full well how to do something as basic as that. That's what makes her so odd, she lies about such basic things. Also lies about huge things that are easily provable. It's sad and disturbing.
