I just got this sharpener. Its nice. I got a bench made bugout with the aluminum handle and the M390 blade. It's a good thing I got the worksharp. That factory knife edge needed lots of help. I put a fresh 18 degree bevel on it and it nice and sharp. Shaves hair off my face clean and easy.I found the knives seem to get a bit sharper if I do some light push strokes to minimize the bur between steps.
Man I’d just like to say your videos have been awesome just spent like 2.5hrs watching you use the worksharp precision adjust pro, I’m about to order mine. I’ve struggled with dull knives for ever. (Can’t work the stones🤷🏻♂️) if at all possible could you sharpen a mora companion with the precision adjust pro. I’d love to see it done so I can do mine. The mora is my favorite bushcraft knife. And my EDC is a kershaw oso sweet. If you felt like doing videos on sharpening those it would be awesome to watch. Great content keep it up. Thanks man huge fan. 👍👍👍.
Outstanding job. My work sharp pro is scheduled for delivery this week. I own the precision adjust elite. I think it would have been nice if work sharp would give a small discount to those who bought the precision adjust and then buy the pro from them. I looked around and BladeHQ had the work sharp pros for $50 less than work sharp. Sorry work sharp but you got my business on the precision adjust elite and $50 is a good chunk of change. Looks like the Pro is a winner for work sharp.
@@devin2355 I think the Pro is an even greater value for the money. It basically gives you what the more expensive fixed angle sharpening systems do but at a much lower price. You will not be disappointed.
I have not been able to get a solid grip on my Spyderco Manix 2. The clamp only grips the wide spine and not the sides of the blade. This is causing the blade to rock within the blade clamp horribly. I am beginning to think my clamp is defective watching this. Thanks for the Etsy links and the discount code. Ordered 10 plates in case I find some other films. I would love to see a thicker blade spyderco flat grind clamped with no wobble.
Great video. After watching your videos I now use the lapping films and what a difference they make. Your excellent videos help someone relatively new, like me, to the sharpening field learn how to put a razor blade edge on their knives. Once again, thank you and keep producing these excellent videos.
At this point, would you still recommend the getting Elite system? I’m only interested in that one because I have quite a few knives in my rotation with curved blades and I’d think the thinner plates would work better for those.
@Sweetknivews questions.. Do you sell the metal plates for the lapping films? Are your edges NOW symmetrical from tip to choile as I saw a previous video with the buck knife you gave away and it was not even ALL along the edge, Where can I buy a goniometer that you use? Thank you for your reply ..
The metal plates are sold on Etsy by Simon3DPrints, I can testify these are high quality. Awesome video! Appreciate the full length and attention to detail. I just got my Work Sharp Pro and Seven additional plates and Seven lapping film sheets (.3, 1, 3, 9, 12, 30 and 40 microns). Plan to use it tomorrow. As you use a bit of water on the Lapping Films, what do you recommend the 99% alcohol to be used for? If I missed it, at what time stamp in the vid do you mention using the alcohol?
Good question, the 99% Rubbing Alcohol is to clean the lapping films with a microfiber cloth after you use them. This will bring them back to almost brand new, just wipe them a few times. It also works on the diamond stones (the higher grit ones). Dawn dish soap can be used to clean the other diamond stones just make sure you dry them good after you wash them.
