During the intro, all I could think about is, will this be worse than when CGB used Quandrix Command to bounce his own creature and put 2 +1/+1 counters on the opponents Questing Beast by accident? Cuz to this day that's the funniest mistake i've seen from him. Sorry to bring that up lol. Still love the content. You don't need to be perfect to be the best lol. Tbh, this "mistake" isn't really that bad. I 100% forgot you'd need to pay the 1 for a free spell as well. I'm sure most did. Discarding Jwari on the kicked Roiling Eruption was such a sick flex

I truly love watching these even more when I'm high, it brings me back to the days of going through those magazines that had strategy stuff each issue and you wouldn't get answers about it until the next issue. Before we could just get online and look, so it unlocked a lot of memories, hard to believe it's been 25 years of playing for me.

At 38:00, isn't it an option to hold invoke calamity until opponent is tapped out, then use it to cast Body from hand and just swing for lethal? Even if TWE pumps out tokens, a single fading hope wins there, or another Calamity/Voltage, besides Kazuul.

Nice to see this deck getting respect! It's been my main standard deck for the past year or so, and it's really good! I don't focus on the ladder as much, but it regularly gets me 7 wins in the standard events. I haven't tried it with the celestus, do you find it's better than just more prismari commands?

The funny part is that CGB actually mentions the Thalia's tax before making the play, right when he drew Invoke Calamity. But I think we've all been there... I've even seen pro players forget about these taxes

Lots of decks you can do for standard: giant aggro, all flavors of control , fable midrange piles , landfall combo. Just make sure they don’t fold to first four turns of Boros/MonoW aggro

43:35 Here, cgb made a grave error. He forgot about the Thalia tax, but instead what you can do is do something better. He should have done something better instead of doing the the thing he did. Sorry cgb I hope you're having a great time in Florida!

Can some explain the Thalia thing because I don't understand from her text why he wasn't able to cast the body of research. Thalia says it costs one more to cast, does that mean even though the card is free to cast you still have to pay one, surely the body of research text overwrites that. And if it's because he can only cast a spell with a mana value of 6 or less well Thalia changes the casting cost not the mana value right?

Body of Research does not overwrite it, it becomes free plus 1, making the cost 1 mana. Hope that helps.

I played 4 kids in a row that just copy Legend, Coverts and Strictlys decks ....whats the point in playing the game when you cant come up with something creative....so annoying . If you wanna play, just wait for daily vids and play exactly counter measures....not my game anymore,
