I first got into precure by glitter force. I had watched it a few years prior and thought it was pretty good. One day I was looking at magical girl transformations on RU-vid and saw a smile precure transformations and some other precure transformations. I learned about glitter force and how it was an Americanized dub and then fell into the precure rabbit hole. Precure helped me discover other magical girl series and anime in general. Thanks to precure I'm now huge magical girl fan and anime fan.
Yeah, I remember watching The Glitter Force and Glitter Force Doki Doki on Netflix when I was 10, then about a year ago I found out that there was a lot of backlash from Netflix because it omitted some of other Japanese episodes in Smile Precure and in Doki Doki Precure. But yeah, Glitter Force may gotten a lot of backlash, but thanks to it, I’m now a huge magical girl fan and a anime fan in general.
Star Twinkle was just a strong season and definitely one of the better seasons in the past decade. Not only does it have some fairly decent rep (coming from a half Mexican girlie) and one of the best Late season cures to date. But it also has an interesting premise. Although the episodes on Earth really dragged and Madoka was a tad bit bland. But she's definitely not as bland as the characters in Delicious party and Healin' Good. I'm not sure how they could go from such a good season to the most MEH season to another awesome season and then just MEH again. Hopefully the newest season will end the pattern and cement us in a decade of good Precure seasons.

Hay, I don't take Madoka slander lying down! Though, I can understand why she wouldn't appeal to Americans as much (I'm an odd one out). She's a Yamato Nadeshiko, a character archetype rooted in traditional Japanese ideals of beauty. Her more subtle, quiet personality makes her seem like a pushover or doormat, but she possesses a strength hidden behind a layer silk. This very personality type is often found in rich families (at least in anime), primarily due to the Japanese placing more importance on their daughters being well-behaved and put the desires of her family before her own.

I thought it was a very good video, a lot of people don't really mention how the character interactions in Star Twinkle are probably the third worst in the entire franchise. It's very refreshing and brave of you to point it out, love the merch segment as well, very funny, although I think you were a little harsh on the villains and their writing.
Great video, and a good choice of a Precure series to use as an entry point! It wasn't noted in the video, but I liked how all of the villains were based off of different yokai, kind of a "fantasy/supernatural versus space/scifi" thing with that choice.
Star Twinkle was my second precure season I ever watched! After watching another 17 (plus ep 1 of HiroSky at the time of writing this) I can confidently say it's one of the best precure seasons! I loved all the characters, but my 2 favorites were Milky and Soleil. I love green cures in general (green is my favorite color) and even though Lala had a pretty spontaneous introduction, I feel like they redeemed her later on in the season. There was that one episode where the cures revealed themselves in front of Lala's family, which was a pretty good episode. Elena was also one of my favorites! As a non-hispanic latina myself, seeing the representation was really important to me as I don't see many latinas in anime. Also her being a big sister is relatable as I have a little brother that is VERY hyper 😅. I just wished she got more screen time though because she really felt kinda forced sometimes. I'm a person that loves magical girl identity reveals, idk why they are just beautiful 😌. Although that's only the case if they actually have good pacing up to the reveal (*Cough Cough* mlb *Cough Cough*) and star twinkle did just that. I loved the classroom reveal more than Lala's family reveal just because of the way things were set up. The class just kinda turned on Lala because of the Alien incidents, and thinking she caused them. i like these kinds of episodes where the MC has to prove their innocence without giving too much away, and they did just that! Overall Star Twinkle is a pretty good season. Lala is an absolute meme and definitely deserves to join Yayoi and Erika 😌💅.
Does anyone esp if you’re from Asia remember noodles that had characters like precure on the front mostly around 2000s and 2010s? Idr what country it was imported from but they were so good you could even eat them uncooked there was like a noodle packet for each character with shiny metallic neon blue pink green as the packet to match with the girls hair colours. I miss them they were so good it stopped getting imported in my country years ago.
Also the season that made me a pretty cure fan was with Tropical Rouge in 2021 which kind of worked out until the finale showed up. Problems aside, I still enjoyed that season and it was special for me during late 2021 when I turned 20 now 21 as of writing this comment.

The very first Precure series I watched was the original with Cure Black and Cure White but dupped in German. I think they only released the very first season. I loved it and wanted more later on when I got more into watching stuff on the PC but never really got into Yes Precure 5 that was airing at that time. But I would frequently look up the OPs, Eds and of course transformations on YT. What really got me watching and hooked to wait weekly for new episodes was Go Princess Precure. Which was awsome! I know the Princess theme is cheesy but the animation and characters where amazing! I really can't recommend it enough! The fights are so well balanced between actual fist fights and using magical power. The villains even feel like real threads. Unlike KiraKira Precure a la mode with I love the design and concept of and really wanted to love and enjoy it, but everything else feels so toned down. After Go Princess I started watching every airing Precure series and in-between binging the older ones. I still need to watch everything before HeartCatch Precure though (another amazing season) The video was a great watch and it kinda got me back into wanting the watch the other seasons I'm still missing 😁 and rematch Go Princess and HeartCatch again 😅 But I'm looking forward to Hirogaru Sky coming soon!
I have to thank you for this video. I've been a fan of Pretty Cure since the beginning of Splash Star. Unfortunately I live in Italy, and here the series were aired only up to HeartCatch. Now I'm catching up on all series, only 5 left. I love these girls with all my heart. Star twinkle I liked very much too, but I also noticed that Madoka and Elena often seemed like secondary characters, finally someone has the courage to say it. This review has relaxed me a lot, I hope you will also take it to all the other series, I will definitely watch them.
I loved this video a lot Hope ^^ Star Twinkle is one of my all time favourite seasons in Precure ^^ I loved it right from the start ^^ Loved all the characters especially LaLa and Elena ^^ The movie is one of my all time favourites ^^ And the animation and music was fantastic ^^ I can rewatch it again and again ^^
I guess I should rewrite my comment. Smile Precure was my first season and I watched it in like 2012-2013 after finding out about it in a magical girl transformation compilation. And watched some fansubs. I forgot about it until I watched the two americanized Precure seasons on Netflix. So I ended up deciding I should watch some real Precure to see if the show was bad or if it was just the dub. I ended up disliking Doki Doki but my love for Smile Precure was reignited when I rewatched it. And ever since then I've been on a magical girl kick. Although my first anime was Digimon Adventure, Sailor moon was my second. So you could say I've been on a magical girl kick all along.

Honestly, one of the things I like about Precure in any other random story are all the made-up foods that look really yummy. :p I know those feasts in the Redwall series always sounded good anyway, LOL. XD
I remember star twinkle mainly for airing roughly at the same time winx season 8 did (didn't watch either lol). And like - 2 magical girl shows with a space themed season (and lyrical transformation sequence?!). Someone copied a little two well from the other 😂.
Oh yeah, this may be kind of random, but I had two really cute magical girl ideas lately. :p The first is about girls that are really in tune to nature and have a habitat theme to them, whether their actually a wild child or maybe live in some kind of city or village close to them, they'd be like girls all around the world for this one, being the sea, forests and jungles, desert and the arctic, and so on. :p Sigh... I couldn't come up with a conflict though. :( The second one is about an aspiring mangaka girl who gets magical colors of the rainbow through colored pencils or something, an Alice in Wonderland-like white rabbit companion, and all sorts of storybook worlds to go in, and so on. ^^; But yeah, sigh... I miss how I think most magical girls besides the ongoing Precure are like weird dark and edgy stuff, and at the very least, they aren't like many others branching out and being experimental as it's own thing or whatever anymore. :( There's just the few really popular ongoing mainstream stuff on some level, and I'd love to hear about newer magical girl ones that are like the old classics we all know and love. :p
